Product description
A glass bottle with a dropper insert and safety cap is used for dispensing liquid cosmetics drop by drop. It has a nominal volume of 30 ml and clear glass that shows the colour and clarity of the contents. It is therefore suitable for products where you want to see what is inside: facial and hair oils, oil serums, cuticle blends or alcohol-based skin preparations. The dropper insert dispenses the contents without pouring, and the cap with an 18/410 neck finish closes the bottle after use.
The set is supplied as a ready-made combination of three matching parts: bottle, dropper insert and cap. All three are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set is not intended for food, so we do not recommend using it in the kitchen.
How the set works
- Bottle – clear glass with an 18/410 neck finish.
- Dropper insert – a long PP plastic insert that is pressed into the neck. When you tilt the bottle, the contents flow out drop by drop, which makes it easier to measure a dose of oil serum or concentrated preparation.
- Cap – a white ribbed PE safety cap. It screws onto the bottle thread over the dropper insert and closes the contents between uses; the ribbing makes it easier to grip.
The dropper insert works with liquids that flow freely. Thick serums with a higher proportion of thickeners or oil blends that solidify may flow out of the insert slowly or not at all. Check how your specific formulation behaves on the first piece before filling larger quantities.
What it is suitable for
The 30 ml volume corresponds to a common pack size for facial oil or serum. The combination of glass and a dropper insert makes sense particularly for:
- Oil serums and facial oils – a dose of a few drops on the palm, without fingers touching the contents of the bottle.
- Blends for hair and ends – light oils are applied with the dropper insert directly onto the hair or into the palm.
- Cuticle oils – a small amount is dispensed precisely onto the spot.
- Alcohol-based skin preparations – dispensed drop by drop in the same way as thin oils.
This set is not intended for spraying or for water-based toners used in larger amounts; a bottle with a fine mist sprayer or a pump is more suitable for those.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the dropper insert, which takes up part of the space when it is pressed into the neck.
Fill to the nominal volume of 30 ml, not to the brim. If you fill up to the neck, the contents are pushed out when the dropper insert is pressed in and the outside of the bottle gets dirty.
Good to know
Clear glass does not block light. Oils prone to oxidation, essential oils and preparations with sensitive active ingredients degrade faster in a clear bottle without protection from daylight. Store the filled set in the dark or in a box. For light-sensitive contents, choose a bottle made of dark glass with the same neck instead.
Before the first filling, wash the bottle, dropper insert and cap, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely.
Plastic parts and concentrates. The dropper insert is made of PP and the cap of PE. With undiluted essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking whether the plastic parts soften or change shape over time.
Reuse. Once empty, the bottle can be washed and used again. The dropper insert can be removed from the neck, but its narrow channel is harder to clean, so when you change the contents it is more reliable to replace it with a new one.
You will find closures for the 18/410 neck finish and other ready-made bottle + closure combinations in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, check the tightness and behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.
For disposal, glass belongs in glass waste and plastic parts in plastics; separate them before throwing them away.
