Product description
This transparent plastic bottle with a white-gold matte dispenser is a ready-made bottle-and-closure set with a capacity of 150 ml, prepared for filling liquid and cream cosmetic preparations. The bottle is made of lightweight and unbreakable PET and shows the contents as well as their colour. With each press, the long-dip-tube dispenser releases the same amount of product without you having to open or tilt the bottle. Both components share the same neck type 24/410, so they seal and work together without any further adjustment.
The set is especially suited to preparations that are used repeatedly and need to stay hygienically clean, for example body lotions, liquid soaps or shower gels. Both the bottle and the dispenser are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; you will find the declaration of conformity with the product.
Why choose this particular set
- Hygienic dispensing – during use the contents come into contact with fingers or air far less than with a jar, which helps keep the preparation clean for longer.
- The same dose with every press – the dispenser measures out roughly the same amount each time, which you will appreciate with liquid soaps and body lotions, where it is otherwise easy to “overpour”. The size of a single dose is given in the parameters.
- Transparent bottle – you can see how much product is left and what colour or consistency it has. It suits preparations where you want to show the natural shade or a clear gel.
- Lightweight and unbreakable material – PET is suitable for the bathroom, a travel bag and for shipping to customers, where glass would need more substantial packaging.
- Understated appearance – the combination of a transparent bottle and a white-gold matte dispenser looks clean, does not compete with the label and is at the same time clearly visible on the shelf.
Which preparations the set suits
The dispenser works best with preparations of medium and lower viscosity that can be drawn up through the tube easily and pushed through the nozzle. These are typically body and face lotions, light emulsions, liquid soaps, shower gels, shampoos, hair conditioners, liquid facial cleansing gels or facial toners in gel form.
The set is not suitable for very thick creams, ointment bases or balms. The dispenser will not push thick preparations out at all, or only with difficulty, or it may draw in air and the doses will be irregular. With very fluid oils or watery toners, on the other hand, the nozzle may keep dripping after pressing. For such preparations a bottle with a spray or a dropper is more suitable.
If you are not sure whether your formulation will pass through the dispenser, fill one bottle as a test and try a few presses after two or three days. Emulsions often thicken more once cooled than they appeared right after production.
How the dispenser works and how to use it
The dispenser is screwed onto the bottle after filling. The dip tube reaches all the way to the bottom so that it draws up even the last of the product. If it extends past the bottom after screwing on and bends, trim it so that it only touches the bottom. Before first use, the dispenser needs to be pressed several times until the tube fills and the preparation starts to come out. This is normal priming, not a fault.
The dispenser combines several materials. In addition to the plastic parts it contains a metal spring and a glass ball that provide the return action and seal the valve. With preparations of lower pH or higher salt content we therefore recommend checking after a few weeks whether the colour of the dose or the action of the dispenser changes. For ordinary cosmetic emulsions and surfactant preparations with a neutral to slightly acidic pH, such a mechanism is standard.
Nominal and total volume
For every container we distinguish two figures. The nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is intended under normal filling and which is stated on the label. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume right up to the neck. The difference between them is the reserve for the dip tube and dispenser mechanism and for slight expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Otherwise, when the dispenser is screwed on, the preparation is pushed out through the neck, soils the thread and the thread then seals less well. Both values are in the parameters.
What is good to know
- Preparation before first filling – before use, rinse the bottle and dispenser, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Residual water would introduce microorganisms into the preparation and dilute the preservative system.
- Cold filling – PET is not intended for hot filling. Let emulsions and gels cool to room temperature before filling. Hot contents can deform the bottle and impair the tightness of the thread.
- Light – a transparent bottle offers no protection from light. Preparations with sensitive ingredients, for example vitamin C, retinol or a higher proportion of unsaturated oils, are better filled into a dark container or stored out of direct light.
- Essential oils and solvents – PET tolerates water-based preparations, surfactant systems and emulsions well. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils, fragrance compositions or a higher alcohol content, we recommend verifying compatibility in the finished product, mainly whether the bottle becomes cloudy or the scent changes.
- Label – the bottle has a flat cylindrical surface to which a label adheres well and onto which print can be applied.
- Reuse – after thorough washing and drying the bottle can be filled again. Rinse the dispenser by pumping clean water through it until clear water comes out of the nozzle, and let it dry.
- Recycling – the bottle is made of a single material, PET. The dispenser combines several types of plastic with a metal spring and glass, so it is separated from the bottle before recycling.
- Other closures – the bottle has a 24/410 neck; closures with the same neck type and ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For your own combination, verify the tightness and dispensing with the specific formulation.
The set is intended for cosmetic preparations. Neither the bottle nor the dispenser is certified for contact with food, so do not use them for oils, syrups or other foods.
