Clear Plastic Bottle, White Lotion Pump With Overcap, Glossy Gold, 150 ml

A clear PET bottle with a volume of 150 ml and a white and gold pump with overcap with a 24/410 neck finish form a ready-made set for liquid and cream products that are dispensed by pressing. One press delivers a measured dose, the contents do not spill, and fingers do not get into the bottle during use. The overcap protects the pump head from dust and from accidental pressing while the bottle is being carried.

Through the clear wall of the bottle you can see how much product is left. PET is lightweight and unbreakable, so the set holds up well in the bathroom as well as in a travel bag. Both the bottle and the pump are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products; you will find the declaration of conformity with the product.

What the set is suitable for

• Body and face lotions – more fluid emulsions pass through the pump smoothly, and the dose per press matches typical use for the hands or face.
• Hand creams and light creams – provided they have a consistency that can be drawn up through the tube. Very thick and solid creams are difficult to dispense.
• Liquid soaps, shower gels and cleansing gels – the most common use of a pump; the measured dose limits waste.
• Light hair serums and emulsions – for example leave-in conditioners or serums for the ends, where a precise small amount is an advantage.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended for in normal filling, here 150 ml. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between the two is a reserve for the tube and the body of the pump, which take up part of the space once screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill only up to the nominal volume. A bottle filled to the brim will overflow when the pump is screwed on.

Filling and dispensing

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the pump, rinse them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Residual water would dilute the first dose and, in emulsions, could compromise preservation.

The tube of the pump should reach just above the bottom of the bottle. If it bends at the bottom after fitting, shorten it with a diagonal cut so that it stands freely. A diagonal cut prevents the end of the tube from sticking to the bottom and the pump from ceasing to draw up product. After screwing the pump on, press it several times until the tube and the head fill and the product starts to come out.

One press delivers approximately 0.2 ml. Keep this in mind when recommending a number of presses per use to your customers.

Good to know

Clear PET offers no protection from light. Products with sensitive ingredients, such as vegetable oils prone to oxidation, vitamin C or some essential oils, are better placed in amber or blue glass. Stable formulations and products for quick everyday use are well suited to a clear bottle.

The set withstands normal household handling, but it is not intended for hot filling. Leave emulsions and gels to cool to room temperature before filling, as heat can deform the PET and damage the soft plastic of the pump.

After thorough washing and disinfection, the bottle and the pump can be reused. Rinse the tube and the inside of the pump with clean water and leave them to dry, as residues of the old product could contaminate the new filling. The bottle is recycled as PET, while the pump is made of polypropylene and aluminium, so separate them before disposal.

The bottle has a 24/410 neck finish, so other closures with the same neck type from the Handymade range can also be used with it. If you make your own combination, check the tightness and the behaviour of the closure with your specific formulation.
