Product description

A plastic bottle with a matte black cap, 150 ml, is a ready-to-use complete packaging and closure for filling liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products in quantities typically consumed within a few weeks. The bottle is made of PET, a lightweight plastic resistant to breakage that can withstand a fall on bathroom tiles as well as transport in a bag or parcel. The transparent body shows the contents, their colour and level, which is appreciated in retail, when sharing your own formulations and in everyday home use.

The matte black cap with 24/410 thread seals the bottle and visually complements it. The combination of a clear bottle and a dark closure looks clean and neutral, allowing the label or the contents themselves to remain the main element. The set is particularly suitable for toners, facial and micellar waters, massage, body and cleansing oils, liquid soaps, shampoos, conditioners and light body lotions. Both the bottle and the cap are declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. A declaration of conformity and technical documentation are available with the product.

Key properties

  • Lightweight breakage-resistant material – PET bottle is lighter than glass of the same volume and will not break on impact, reducing shipping costs and the risk of injury in the bathroom.
  • Transparency – the contents, their colour and remaining quantity are visible without opening, which is practical for retail and home use.
  • Simple closure – the screw cap made of PP is fitted by hand without tools and the bottle can be repeatedly opened and closed without damaging the thread.
  • Standard 24/410 neck – one of the most common necks for cosmetic bottles, so the cap can later be replaced with another closure of the same thread.
  • Everyday-use volume – 150 ml is a size sufficient for toners, oils and lotions for daily use and also fits in a travel bag.

Nominal and total volume

The bottle has a nominal volume of 150 ml, which is the quantity the packaging is designed for under normal filling conditions. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger; the exact value can be found in the product specifications. The difference between the two values is a reserve for the closure and for expansion of the contents when temperature changes, for example during summer transport. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If you later replace the cap with a sprayer or pump, the reserve also provides room for their dip tube.

Working with the packaging

Before first filling, we recommend washing and disinfecting the bottle and cap with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing them to dry completely. This also applies to repeated use, as residues from a previous product may contaminate the new fill or affect its scent. Filling is done through the narrow neck; a funnel or filling syringe will help with thicker lotions.

PET tolerates aqueous, alcoholic and oil-based contents commonly used in cosmetics. However, it is not intended for hot filling. Allow an emulsion or liquid soap to cool to room temperature before filling, otherwise the bottle body may deform.

For contents with a high proportion of essential oils, concentrated fragrance compositions or solvents, check in advance whether the material changes its appearance or shape. A brief test with a small amount of product is usually sufficient. Do not expose the packaging to aggressive chemicals.

The clear bottle does not protect the contents from light. Products sensitive to light (oils prone to oxidation, vitamin C, certain extracts) should be stored away from direct sunlight or a coloured packaging should be chosen for them. For toners, soaps and common emulsions, transparency is not a problem.

The cap made of PP is resistant to most cosmetic contents and handles repeated opening well. It is a closure cap without a dispensing opening; the contents are poured or decanted directly from the bottle. For products that require controlled dispensing, a sprayer or pump with the same neck size is more suitable.

Closures with a 24/410 neck and other ready-made packaging and closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. When assembling your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.

Suitable for products such as

  • Toners and facial waters – aqueous and hydrolat-based products applied with a cotton pad or to the palm.
  • Massage, body and cleansing oils – transparency shows the oil's colour, which is often part of its character.
  • Liquid soaps, shampoos and shower gels – for home use and smaller retail batches.
  • Light body lotions and conditioners – for thicker emulsions, check that they can be poured comfortably through the neck.
  • Technical solutions – the packaging is also available in technical quality, suitable for household cleaning solutions or solutions used in production. Compatibility with more aggressive chemicals must be verified in advance.

Good to know

The set is not approved for food contact. Neither the bottle nor the cap is certified for food use, so do not use it for oils, syrups or herbal extracts intended for consumption.

The clear packaging also works well with transparent labels, through which the contents remain visible.

The bottle and cap are made of two different plastics, PET and PP. Separate them before disposal; both materials belong in sorted plastic waste.

The packaging can be reused. Before each new fill, check that the thread seals properly and that there are no cracks or cloudiness in the plastic. Rinse residues of oil-based products thoroughly with detergent and warm, not hot, water.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 150 ml plastic bottle with a matte black cap suitable for cosmetics?
Yes, both the bottle and the cap are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. They are suitable for toners, oils, liquid soaps, shampoos and light lotions. The set is not approved for food contact, so do not use it for edible oils, syrups or other foodstuffs.
Does the clear PET bottle protect the contents from light?
No, clear packaging does not block light. Products sensitive to light, such as oils prone to oxidation or serums with vitamin C, should be stored in it away from direct sunlight, or a coloured packaging should be chosen for them. For toners, liquid soaps and common emulsions, transparency does no harm and also shows how much product remains.
How much product fits in the 150 ml plastic bottle?
The bottle is designed to be filled with 150 ml, which is its nominal volume. Physically, it holds slightly more up to the neck; the exact value is stated in the specifications. The difference is a reserve for the closure and for expansion of the contents when temperature changes, so the bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.
Can I fill a hot emulsion or soap into the PET bottle?
No, PET is not intended for hot filling. Allow the finished emulsion, liquid soap or gel to cool to room temperature before filling, otherwise the bottle body may deform. For contents with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, test in advance whether the material changes its appearance.
Can the matte black cap be replaced with a pump or sprayer?
Yes, the bottle has a standard 24/410 neck, which accepts closures with the same thread, such as a sprayer or pump. The supplied cap is a closure cap without a dispensing opening and is suitable for pouring or decanting. When assembling your own combination, verify the seal and the length of the dip tube.
How to prepare the 150 ml plastic bottle before first use and can it be reused?
Before first filling, wash the bottle and cap, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. The packaging can be reused. Before each new fill, check the thread, the seal and whether the plastic has any cracks or cloudiness. Remove residues of oil-based products with detergent and warm water.
