Product description

Rosehip seed CO₂-to extract from organic seeds is a pure plant oil extract obtained from dried seeds of Rosa canina (rosehip) by supercritical carbon dioxide extraction. This gentle process preserves all bioactive components of rosehip seeds – especially unsaturated fatty acids, tocopherols and carotenoids, which have significant regenerating and antioxidant effects. The extract has an orange-red colour, is clear and oily, with a delicate fruity aroma. It is stabilised with a small amount of organic rosemary antioxidant, which improves its resistance to oxidation and prolongs its shelf life. It is a CO₂-to (total extract) – a complete extract containing the full spectrum of lipid components, including fatty acids, sterols, tocopherols and carotenoids.

Type of extraction: Supercritical carbon dioxide extraction (CO₂)
Designation: CO₂-to – total extract (complete extract with all lipid components)
D/E ratio: 12 – 15 kg dried rosehip seeds to 1 kg extract
Composition: 99.9 % CO₂ extract from rosehip seeds (organic), 0.1 % rosemary antioxidant (organic)

Key benefits

  • Rich source of essential fatty acids – contains 41–59 % linoleic acid (omega-6), 20–35 % α-linolenic acid (omega-3) and 12–22 % oleic acid (omega-9).
  • Strong antioxidant effect – thanks to its natural content of tocopherols and carotenoids it protects the skin against oxidative stress and premature ageing.
  • Regenerates and nourishes the skin – supports cell renewal, improves elasticity and helps to soften scars and pigmentation spots.
  • Moisturising and protective action – strengthens the skin barrier, improves hydration and gives the complexion a healthy appearance.
  • Certified organic quality – obtained without synthetic solvents, pesticides or additives, certified according to the COSMOS standard.

  • Compatibility: Compatible with vegetable oils, waxes and CO₂ extracts
  • Handling: Before use, gently warm to 40 °C and mix to restore a uniform consistency.

Cosmetic use

In cosmetics, rosehip oil from seeds is known as an intensively regenerating and anti-ageing extract. Thanks to its content of essential fatty acids, tocopherols and carotenoids, it stimulates cell renewal and accelerates the regeneration of damaged skin. It is ideal for dry, mature, sensitive or damaged skin, where it helps to soften scars, wrinkles and pigmentation spots. It improves hydration and elasticity and protects the skin against moisture loss and the effects of free radicals. In hair care products it regenerates hair fibres, strengthens their structure and adds shine. Due to its nourishing and protective effects it is often combined with other CO₂ extracts and vegetable oils.

Safety and storage

For external use only. Store in a cool, dry and dark place, tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Warm and mix before use. It is recommended to store in dark packaging to maintain the stability of fatty acids and antioxidants.

FAQ

What substances does rosehip CO₂ extract from seeds contain?

The extract contains a high proportion of essential fatty acids – especially linoleic, α-linolenic and oleic acid – together with natural antioxidants such as tocopherols, sterols and carotenoids. These substances support skin regeneration and protect it against oxidative stress.

For which skin type is rosehip oil suitable?

It is suitable for dry, mature, sensitive or damaged skin. It supports regeneration, improves elasticity and leaves the skin smooth and hydrated.

Does rosehip extract help with scars and wrinkles?

Yes, thanks to its content of essential fatty acids and antioxidants it improves skin regeneration, supports its renewal and helps to soften scars, pigmentation spots and fine wrinkles.

What does the designation “CO₂-to” mean?

The abbreviation CO₂-to means total extract – a complete CO₂ extract that contains all lipid components of the plant including waxes, antioxidants and fatty acids. This type of extract has higher nutritional value and stability than “selective” (CO₂-se) extracts.
