Day cream with rose water and geranium scent to spice up your daily skin routine

How do you make a light-as-a-puffcream with a wonderful rose and geranium scent, made with love from natural ingredients? Quite simply! This time Ivka has prepared for us a DYI procedure for making a day cream that will nourish and moisturise your skin. What's more, it is easily absorbed into the skin, so it won't weigh it down and you can even put it under your make-up. And the smell! It will get you!

Day cream and its ingredients

To make it:

Water phase:

48g rose water

Oil phase:

15g apricot oil

6g shea butter

4.5g soya lecithin

3g vegetable glycerin

1.5g beeswax

0.5g vitamin E

0.5g Cosgard

25 drops geranium essential oil or your choice

Procedure for making the day cream:

1. Disinfect all the tools and containers you will use with 99% rubbing alcohol or boil them in water.
2. Weigh your rose water into a sanitized bowl and apricot kernel oil, shea butter, glycerin, soy lecithin and beeswax together in a second sanitized bowl.
3. Gradually heat both ingredients in separate bowls in a water bath to around 70°C (less than 80°F).
4. When they reach 70°C, gradually stir the rose water into the oil phase until the emulsion has cooled to 40°C.
5. Once cool, then add vitamin E, Cosgard preservative and essential oil. Mix well together.
6. Fill into the jar and close only when the cream has cooled completely.

Tip: when using an airless bottle, which is very practical and hygienic, it is best to fill the cream directly into the bottle using the decorating bag.

Day cream and the importance of ingredients

This cream is light and very well absorbed thanks to its apricot oil content.

Apricot oil is rich in vitamin A, B1, B2, B6 and B17.

Rose water has a soothing effect, relieving redness and irritation. Stimulates skin regeneration. It moisturizes, refreshes and helps maintain the pH balance of the skin.

Glycerin protects the skin from dryness.
