Chamomile essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of Chamomilla recutita flowers. This valuable oil has a long history of use in traditional medicine and cosmetics. It is known for its soothing, regenerative and anti-inflammatory properties that make it invaluable in skin care and aromatherapy. Due to its chamazulene content, it has a typical bluish colour and a specific aroma.

What is the difference between chamomile and Roman chamomile?Roman chamomile(Chamomilla recutita) contains chamazulene, which gives it its bluish colour and strong anti-inflammatory properties. Roman chamomile(Anthemis nobilis) has a milder, sweeter scent and is used more for calming the mind and emotions.
