The essential oil of Basil is obtained by steam distillation from the flowering parts. Its fragrance is sweet and fresh, with a slightly balsamic undertone. In aromatherapy it is used to relieve tension in the head and neck and for concentration and calming of the mind (thanks to its high linalool content). It is also an excellent helper during meditation techniques. Overall, it acts to soothe the nervous system as a result of overwork and other external stress factors. It combines excellently with fragrances such as cedarwood, bergamot, sage, pink grapefruit, lime, neroli, sandalwood.
All supplied raw materials are of cosmetic grade, not suitable for internal use. Use appropriate protective equipment when handling.
WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?
Essential oils, also called ethereal oils, are natural aromatic substances that come from various parts of plants – trunks, roots, seeds, flowers, leaves, etc. They give plants their characteristic fragrance and, in addition, have healing and protective effects. They have a very positive effect on symptoms on the physical, emotional and mental levels.
Their chemical composition is fairly complex. Essential oils are most often obtained from plants by distillation, extraction or pressing. Essential oils are highly concentrated and are applied directly to the skin only after dilution with carrier vegetable oils (almond, apricot kernel, jojoba, etc.). The only exception is tea tree and lavender essential oil, which you can apply directly.
Use essential oils for inhalation or in your cosmetic products; the consumption of any essential oils of any brands is not recommended.
Essential oils are fat-soluble, therefore if you want to use them in products that do not contain oils and butters, use a solvent /solubilizer/.
HOW CAN I USE ESSENTIAL OIL?
Cosmetic and soap making – the required amount of essential oil depends on the specific formula and the quantity produced. Inhalation, steaming – drip a few drops of essential oil into an aroma lamp, diffuser or a container with hot water.Bath – mix the drops of oil in a base oil /coconut, olive.../, in 1 dl of milk or in a teaspoon of honey, pour this mixture into the bathtub. Essential oils on their own are not soluble in water, the drops would float on the surface.Massage – add a few drops of essential oil to a cold-pressed vegetable oil (approx. 50 ml) and mix well. Enjoy a pleasant massage.Sauna – you can choose from conifers, rosemary, eucalyptus, sage, mint or citrus fragrances. The number of drops depends on the size of the sauna and your taste.
Essential oils are also popular for use in skin care, local compresses, hair masks, oral hygiene care...
