Blue Tansy essential oil is a precious essential oil also called Moroccan chamomile. It is obtained from the flowers of the plant Tanacetum annuum - annual tansy, which is traditional for Morocco.
Blue Tansy essential oil is also characterized by its deep blue to indigo colour, which stains the skin as well as clothing; for this reason, do not apply this oil undiluted to the skin. As with other essential oils, add Blue Tansy essential oil to a carrier oil before application.
Blue Tansy combines a gently sweet, floral scent with herbal notes. Overall, Blue Tansy essential oil is considered a middle to top note with a pleasant, refreshing and soothing aroma. It helps improve the condition of irritated skin, is also suitable for shampoos for itchy scalp or dandruff, and furthermore has anti-inflammatory and calming properties. You can likewise use Blue Tansy in products for tired and stiff muscles or in formulations for acne-prone skin or after insect bites.
You can find the maximum recommended dosage for individual product types, for example, in the IFRA standards; typically, the dosage is up to 1 %.
Annual tansy (Blue Tansy) has a low thujone content and a high content of chamazulene. It is considered relatively safe in cosmetics at the recommended low use levels (0,1–1 %). The main risk is only discolouration of the product and possible skin irritation at high concentration.
All supplied raw materials are of cosmetic grade, not suitable for internal use. Use appropriate protective equipment when handling.

WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?
Essential oils, also called ethereal oils, are natural aromatic substances that come from various parts of plants – stems, roots, seeds, flowers, leaves, etc. They give plants their characteristic fragrance and, in addition, they also have healing and protective effects. They have a very positive effect on symptoms on the physical, emotional and mental level.
Their chemical composition is relatively complex. Volatile oils are obtained from plants most often by distillation, extraction or pressing. Essential oils are highly concentrated and are used directly on the skin only after dilution with carrier vegetable oils (almond, apricot kernel, jojoba, etc.). The only exceptions are tea tree and lavender essential oil, which you can apply directly.
Use essential oils for inhalation or in your cosmetic products; we do not recommend the consumption of any essential oils of any brands.
Essential oils are fat-soluble; therefore, if you want to use them in products without oils and butters, use a solvent /solubiliser/.
HOW CAN I USE AN ESSENTIAL OIL?
Making cosmetics and soaps – the required amount of essential oil depends on the specific formula and the batch size. Inhalation, steaming – drop a few drops of essential oil into an aroma lamp, diffuser or a container with hot water.Bath – mix the drops of oil into a base oil /coconut, olive.../, into 1 dl of milk or into a teaspoon of honey, and pour this mixture into the bathtub. Essential oils alone are not soluble in water; the drops would float on the surface.Massage – add a few drops of essential oil to a cold-pressed vegetable oil (approx. 50 ml) and mix well. Pleasant massage.Sauna – you can choose from conifers, rosemary, eucalyptus, sage, mint or citrus fragrances. The number of drops depends on the size of the sauna and your preferences.
Essential oils are also popularly used in skin care, local compresses, hair masks, oral hygiene care...
