Product description

Vetiver essential oil is obtained by steam distillation from the aromatic parts of its root. Its fragrance is sweet, earthy, woody and it blends very well with a large number of other essential oils, such as: cedarwood, chamomile, frankincense, ginger, jasmine, juniper, lavender, lemongrass, patchouli, rose, sandalwood, vanilla, ylang-ylang.

In India and Sri Lanka, vetiver is considered an oil of peace, which only confirms its calming and relaxing effects, used mainly in aromatherapy. In addition, it also works as a natural aphrodisiac. Using it in relaxing massage blends is also an excellent choice.

Beyond this, it has found application in many areas of natural cosmetics thanks to its versatile properties: stimulating, anti-inflammatory, deodorant, antiseptic, detoxifying, strengthening and moisturizing. You can therefore use it in oils, gels, toners, soaps, shampoos, sprays, perfumes or candles.

All supplied raw materials are of cosmetic grade, not suitable for internal use. Use appropriate protective equipment when handling.

WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?

Essential oils, also called ethereal oils, are natural aromatic substances that come from various parts of plants – stems, roots, seeds, flowers, leaves, etc. They give plants their characteristic scent and in addition have therapeutic and protective effects. They act very positively on symptoms on the physical, emotional and mental level.

Their chemical composition is relatively complex. Essential oils are most often obtained from plants by distillation, extraction or pressing. Essential oils are highly concentrated and are used directly on the skin only after dilution with carrier vegetable oils (almond, apricot kernel, jojoba, etc.). The only exceptions are tea tree and lavender essential oils, which you can apply directly.

Use essential oils for inhalation or in your cosmetic products; we do not recommend ingesting any essential oils of any brands.

Essential oils are fat-soluble, therefore if you want to use them in products without oils and butters, use a solvent /solubilizer/.

HOW WILL I USE AN ESSENTIAL OIL?

Cosmetics and soap making – the required amount of essential oil depends on the specific formula and the quantity produced.
Inhalation, steaming – drip a few drops of essential oil into an aroma lamp, diffuser or a container of hot water.
Bath – disperse the drops of oil in a base oil /coconut, olive.../, in 1 dl of milk or in a teaspoon of honey, and pour this mixture into the bathtub. Pure essential oils are not soluble in water; the drops would float on the surface.
Massage – add a few drops of essential oil to a cold-pressed vegetable oil (approx. 50 ml) and mix well. Enjoy a pleasant massage.
Sauna – you can choose from conifers, rosemary, eucalyptus, sage, mint or citrus scents. The number of drops depends on the size of the sauna and your preference.

Essential oils are also popular for use in skin care, local compresses, hair masks, in oral hygiene care...
