Euxyl K903 is a purely natural liquid preservative for cosmetic products from the manufacturer Ashland.
It is suitable for all types of rinse-off and non-rinse-off products, as well as for products intended for sensitive skin and for cosmetics intended for the eye area. Even at low concentrations it is very effective and provides a complete preservative system with a broad balanced spectrum of efficacy against both Gram+ and Gram- bacteria, yeasts and moulds. It does not contain parabens or formaldehyde.
According to the manufacturer, this preservative is also partially effective in non-ionic formulations. As with most natural preservatives, its effectiveness is highly dependent on the final pH of the product, which must be below 6.
The recommended pH for ideal efficacy is 5 - 5.5.
Dosage: According to current EU legislation, the maximum concentration of benzoic acid and benzyl alcohol allowed is 1.23%.
Use 0.4 - 1.2% in the cooling phase of the product.
Not suitable for water-free formulations.
Use: as the product also contains an oil component, it is not 100% water soluble, not suitable for oil formulations. For products without an oil part (such as lotions) or without surfactants, you will need a solubilizer to dissolve and disperse it evenly.
All raw materials supplied are cosmetic grade, not suitable for internal use. Please use appropriate protective equipment when handling.
