Essential oil Thyme, also known as White Thyme, is produced by steam distillation from the plant Thymus vulgaris, Lamiaceae.
It has a clear to pale yellow colour. It is known for its antibacterial and antiviral effects. In an aroma lamp it helps to kill bacteria in the air. Its scent repels insects, therefore it is a common ingredient in natural repellents. It is used mainly for oily, acne-prone and inflamed skin. It also very effectively treats cold sores and aphthae. Do not use during pregnancy, in cases of high blood pressure or epilepsy. All supplied raw materials are of cosmetic grade, not suitable for internal use. Use appropriate protective equipment when handling.

WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?
Essential oils, also called ethereal oils, are natural aromatic substances that come from different parts of plants – stems, roots, seeds, flowers, leaves, etc. They give plants their characteristic fragrance and, in addition, they also have therapeutic and protective effects. They have a very positive effect on symptoms on the physical, emotional and mental levels.
Their chemical composition is fairly complex. Essential oils are obtained from plants most often by distillation, extraction or pressing. Essential oils are highly concentrated and are applied directly to the skin only after dilution with carrier vegetable oils (almond, apricot kernel, jojoba, etc.). The only exception is essential oil from tea tree and lavender, which you can apply directly.
Use essential oils for inhalation or in your cosmetic products; we do not recommend ingestion of any essential oils of any brands.
Essential oils are fat-soluble, therefore if you want to use them in products without oils and butters, use a solvent /solubiliser/.
HOW CAN I USE AN ESSENTIAL OIL?
Cosmetics and soap making – the required amount of essential oil depends on the specific formula and batch size. Inhalation, steaming – drop a few drops of essential oil into an aroma lamp, diffuser or a container of hot water.Bath – disperse the drops of oil in a base oil /coconut, olive.../, in 1 dl of milk or in a teaspoon of honey, and pour this mixture into the bath. Pure essential oils are insoluble in water, the drops would float on the surface.Massage – add a few drops of essential oil to a cold-pressed vegetable oil (approx. 50 ml) and mix well. Enjoy a pleasant massage.Sauna – you can choose from conifers, rosemary, eucalyptus, sage, mint or citrus scents. The number of drops depends on the size of the sauna and your preference.
Essential oils are also widely used in skin care, local compresses, hair masks, oral care...
