FAQ – Most frequently asked questions

Can this glass bottle be used repeatedly?

Yes, the glass packaging can be reused with proper care. Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol (IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol) or plant-based ethanol (Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based). By observing hygiene principles you reduce the risk of microbial contamination and extend the stability of the final product.

How should I properly clean the glass bottle before reusing it?

Before refilling, we recommend thoroughly rinsing the residues of the original product with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent, then rinsing several times with clean water and allowing it to dry completely. After drying, it is advisable to disinfect the inside of the bottle and any accessories with alcohol, for example using IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or 96 % plant ethanol. Only after the alcohol has completely evaporated and the bottle has dried is the packaging ready for new filling.

How should I correctly recycle this glass bottle if I do not want to keep using it?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the type of material indicated in the product parameters. The glass container can typically be placed in the container intended for glass (usually green or white), and it is advisable to remove any product residues and separate any plastic or metal parts of the closure. Always adapt the specific recommendations to local recycling rules and the information in the parameter table for the given packaging on the product page.

With which types of closures and sprayers is this bottle compatible?

The compatibility of closures and dispensers is always linked to the specific neck type and other parameters stated with the product. When making a selection in the e‑shop, we recommend using the already created combinations of bottles and closures or, within the same category, choosing components with identical neck designations. Even though the recommended combinations on Handymade are tested and functional, for your own formulations it is important to carry out your own leak and dosing test with your specific formulation.
