Product description

A glass bottle with a volume of 100 ml and a white-silver spray pump is a ready-to-use container for thin liquid preparations applied as a fine mist. It is particularly suited for facial toners and hydrolats, body and hair sprays, or room fragrances.

The bottle and the spray pump share the same neck type, and the dip tube is sized to match the bottle height, so the set does not need to be assembled from two separately chosen parts. Glass does not react with the contents, does not absorb fragrances, and handles both alcohol-based and water-based formulations well. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

What preparations is the set suitable for

The spray pump produces a mist from thin liquids with a viscosity close to water. It is worth selecting the fill accordingly:

  • Toners, facial waters and hydrolats – the mist spreads evenly over the skin without a cotton pad.
  • Hair and body sprays – lightweight leave-in preparations, detangling waters, refreshing body mists.
  • Alcohol and hydroalcoholic blends – body and room fragrances, fabric sprays, and hand sanitiser sprays.
  • Biphasic preparations – after shaking they can be sprayed if both phases are sufficiently thin; behaviour should be verified on a sample.

Thick oils, gels, emulsions, and preparations with undissolved particles do not belong in this container. The spray pump will not atomise them into a mist and the nozzle may clog.

How the spray pump doses and seals

One press delivers approximately 0.14 ml of preparation, so a full bottle provides roughly 700 actuations. The small dose makes application economical and even. A new spray pump needs to be primed with several dry strokes until the dip tube and mechanism fill with liquid.

The spray pump screws onto the bottle. After filling, it is tightened by hand with moderate firmness and no force, so the thread seats evenly. The dip tube and internal plastic parts of the mechanism come into contact with the contents; the shiny silver outer sleeve is on the outside only.

Before filling the entire batch, it is worth testing one bottle with the finished preparation. Leave it to stand for several days and check that the spray pump produces an even mist, does not drip, and does not clog.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended for under normal filling conditions. Total brim-full volume is the physical volume up to the neck rim and is slightly larger. This difference serves as a buffer: the dip tube and spray pump body displace some liquid, and the liquid needs room to expand with temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Exact values are listed in the product parameters.

What is worth knowing before filling

  • Preparing the container – before first use, wash the bottle, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow it to dry completely. For the spray pump, a few strokes with a small amount of ethanol are sufficient; leave to dry.
  • Glass and heat – glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes. Fill with a cooled or lukewarm preparation; a hot fill in a cold bottle may cause cracking.
  • Essential oils and solvents – glass is resistant to them, but the plastic parts of the spray pump may react to high concentrations of essential oils or strong solvents. With such blends, we recommend testing compatibility on a sample.
  • Labelling – the label adheres to clean, degreased glass. Dimensions needed for label design are in the product parameters.
  • Recycling – the glass bottle goes into glass waste. The spray pump is made of plastic and aluminium and should therefore be separated from the bottle before disposal.

The glass bottle alone holds a food-contact certificate; the spray pump does not. The set as a whole is therefore intended for cosmetic preparations, not for food.

Other closures with the same neck type (specified in the parameters) and ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. When assembling your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dosing behaviour, and compatibility of the container with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Can oil or gel be sprayed from the 100 ml glass bottle with spray pump?
No, the spray pump is designed for thin liquids with a viscosity close to water. It will not atomise thick oils, gels, or emulsions into a mist. They either come out as a stream or not at all, and the mechanism may become clogged. A container with a pump dispenser or dropper is more suitable for such preparations. Very thin oils should be tested on a sample first.
Is the glass bottle with spray pump suitable for alcohol-based preparations and blends with essential oils?
Yes, the set is suitable for hydroalcoholic blends with a standard content of fragrance components. Glass is resistant to both ethanol and essential oils and does not affect the contents. The plastic parts of the spray pump are more sensitive. With high concentrations of essential oils or strong solvents, we therefore recommend leaving a filled sample to stand for several days and checking both function and seal.
Is the 100 ml glass bottle with spray pump suitable for food?
The set as a whole is not approved for food contact; it is intended for cosmetic preparations. Only the glass bottle itself holds a food-contact certificate; the spray pump is declared for cosmetic use only. For food applications, the bottle must be combined with a closure that also carries such a certificate.
Why is the 100 ml bottle with spray pump not filled to the brim?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume because the headspace serves a purpose. Once the spray pump is screwed on, the dip tube and pump body displace some liquid, so a bottle filled to the brim would overflow. The free space also accommodates expansion of the contents with temperature changes and reduces the risk of leakage through the thread.
Can the glass bottle with spray pump be reused?
Yes, the glass bottle can be refilled after thorough washing, disinfection with alcohol, and drying. The spray pump is harder to clean because residues of the preparation remain in the dip tube and mechanism. Flushing with warm water followed by ethanol helps. When changing the formulation or with preparations sensitive to microbial contamination, using a new spray pump is the safer option.
