Product description

The glossy black glass bottle with a black and gold dropper is a complete set for dispensing liquid cosmetics drop by drop. The opaque black glass does not let light reach the contents, so the 30 ml size is especially suited to facial serums, oil concentrates with active ingredients and blends of essential oils in a carrier oil, whose components lose potency or change colour when exposed to light. The dropper with an 18/410 neck finish fits directly onto the bottle neck. The packaging is supplied assembled, so you do not need to look for a separate closure.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. Only the glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact; the dropper does not have one, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.

What it is suited for

  • Facial and eye serums – both water-based and oil-based, where a few drops are dispensed per use.
  • Oil blends with active ingredients – oils with vitamin E, coenzyme Q10 or retinol derivatives, which are sensitive to oxidation and light.
  • Blends of essential oils in a carrier oil – massage and aromatherapy blends where you measure by drops.
  • Beard and hair oils – dispensing drop by drop straight into the palm or onto the hair ends.
  • Samples and small batches – when testing a recipe, 30 ml is enough to check how the formulation behaves without wasting raw materials.

How to work with the set

The dropper consists of a glass tube, a silicone bulb and a threaded PP part covered by a gold aluminium overcap. Squeezing the bulb draws in the contents and releasing it dispenses them drop by drop. The length of the dropper is matched to this bottle, so the tube reaches deep enough even when the level is low. The gold overcap and the black glass give the finished product a uniform look without any further decoration.

The nominal volume of the bottle is the amount the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The brimful capacity is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference between the two is a reserve for the dropper tube, which is immersed in the contents once the dropper is screwed on, and for the expansion of the liquid when the temperature changes.

Fill up to the nominal volume of 30 ml, not to the brim. If the bottle is filled higher, the tube displaces the contents when the dropper is screwed on and they overflow through the neck.

Good to know

  • Preparation before the first filling – wash the bottle and the dropper, disinfect them and let them dry completely. Residual water in an oil serum shortens the stability of the product.
  • The fill level is not visible – the black glass is opaque. Mark the filling date and keep in mind when selling that the customer cannot see how much of the product is left.
  • Glass and heat – let the contents cool to room temperature before filling, as a sudden temperature difference can damage the glass.
  • Water-based and oil-based contents – the glass and the glass tube withstand common cosmetic contents. Water-based serums need preservation, because the dropper comes into contact with the skin and with air at every use.
  • Reuse – after thorough washing and disinfection, the bottle can be used again. For the dropper, check that the silicone bulb has not hardened and that the tube is not chipped.
  • Recycling – the bottle belongs in glass waste. The dropper combines PP, aluminium, glass and silicone, so separate it from the bottle when sorting.

For contents with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, check how the silicone bulb behaves with your specific formulation before you fill a larger batch.

You will find closures with the same 18/410 neck finish and other ready-made bottle and closure combinations in the Handymade range.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 30 ml black glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, the glossy black glass is opaque and does not let light reach the contents. It is therefore suitable for serums and oils with light-sensitive active ingredients, for example with vitamin C, retinol derivatives or unsaturated vegetable oils. Protection from light does not replace preservation or antioxidants, but it slows the deterioration of the contents during storage and use.
How many ml can you actually fill into the bottle with the dropper?
You fill it up to the nominal volume of 30 ml. The brimful capacity is larger and is stated in the parameters. This difference serves as a reserve for the dropper tube, which is immersed in the contents once the dropper is screwed on, and for the expansion of the liquid when the temperature changes. If the bottle is filled higher, the contents overflow through the neck when the dropper is screwed on.
Can the set with the dropper be used for edible oils or syrups?
The set as a whole is not approved for contact with food. Only the glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact; the dropper does not have one. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products, so we recommend it for serums, cosmetic oils and tinctures for cosmetic use.
Is the dropper suitable for both oil-based and water-based serums?
Yes, the dropper dispenses both oil-based and water-based contents. The glass tube and the glass bottle withstand common cosmetic ingredients. Water-based serums need preservation, because the dropper comes into contact with air and skin at every use. For a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, check how the silicone bulb behaves with your specific formulation.
How do you clean the bottle with the dropper and reuse it?
Wash the bottle and the dropper with warm water and a cleaning product, rinse them, disinfect them and let them dry completely. Before the next filling, check that the silicone bulb keeps its shape and that the glass tube is not cracked. The bottle can be used repeatedly; replace the dropper if it shows signs of wear.
Which closure fits the 30 ml black glass bottle instead of the dropper?
Closures with an 18/410 neck finish fit the bottle. In the Handymade range you will find closures with this neck finish as well as ready-made bottle and closure combinations. If you make your own combination, check the tightness and the dispensing with your specific formulation before you fill a larger batch.
