Product description

Glass bottle, black glossy, nasal spray 30 ml is a ready-made set of packaging and dispenser: a glass bottle shaped like a medicine vial with an opaque black surface and a white dispenser with a narrow long nozzle that releases a small, precisely measured dose of fine mist with each press. It is suitable for low-viscosity cosmetic preparations that are applied in a targeted way and in small amounts – toners, hydrosols, refreshing mists, scalp serums or concentrated active solutions in small packaging. The black glass also protects the contents from light.

Why black glass and a nasal dispenser

  • Protection from light – opaque black glass does not let light through, which you will appreciate with hydrosols, plant extracts, vitamin solutions and fragrances whose stability is shortened or colour changed by light.
  • Precise small dose – the dispenser releases approximately 0.12 ml with each press, so you apply concentrated preparations without overdosing and without waste.
  • Targeted application – the narrow extended nozzle directs the mist onto a small area, for example the scalp between the hair or a specific spot on the face or body.
  • Hygienic dispensing – the contents do not come into contact with the fingers and come into contact with less air than with an open neck, which helps keep the preparation clean for longer.
  • Glass without odour memory – the glass bottle does not absorb fragrances or dyes, and after thorough cleaning it can be filled with different contents.

How the set works

The dispenser screws onto the neck of the bottle with an 18/410 thread. Inside there is a mechanical pump with a spring and a tube that draws the contents from the bottom. After filling the bottle, the pump needs to be pressed several times without liquid until the first mist appears – this is normal procedure, not a fault.

The dispenser tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Before the first use, shorten it with a sharp knife or scissors so that it ends just above the bottom – a tube that is too long will bend and the pump will draw in air, while one that is too short will leave part of the contents unused.

The name "nasal spray" refers to the shape of the applicator with a narrow nozzle. The set as a whole is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics; the intended use of the finished preparation and its compliance with legislation are the responsibility of whoever fills the packaging.

Suitable for products such as

  • Toners and hydrosols – water-based preparations with low viscosity are atomised into a fine mist without running.
  • Scalp serums and toners – the narrow nozzle reaches between the hair and a small targeted dose does not weigh the hair down.
  • Concentrated active solutions – for example water-based solutions of peptides, niacinamide or hyaluronic acid in low concentration, where precise dosing and protection from light matter.
  • Travel and sample packaging – 30 ml at small doses lasts for weeks of use and the black glass looks uniform even without a label.
  • Refreshing and aromatic mists – light water-based or water-alcohol mists for the skin; with a higher proportion of essential oils, verify compatibility with the plastic parts of the dispenser.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 30 ml is the amount for which the bottle is intended during normal filling. The total volume to the brim is larger – it is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the tube and the pump of the dispenser, which take up part of the space after being screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. It is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If filled to the brim, the contents are pushed out through the neck when the dispenser is attached, soiling the thread and impairing the seal.

What is good to know before filling

  • Preparing the packaging – before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Rinse the dispenser with clean water or alcohol, pump it empty and let it dry in an upright position.
  • Plastic parts – the dispenser contains polypropylene, polystyrene and LDPE. With contents that have a higher proportion of essential oils, solvents or with strongly alcoholic preparations, we recommend testing one sample and checking the seal, colour change and nozzle behaviour after a few weeks.
  • You cannot see the level – the black glass is opaque, the remaining amount can only be estimated from the weight or the number of doses. When producing for customers, state this on the label, for example with an approximate number of applications.
  • Labelling – light or metallic label print is clearly legible on the black glossy surface.
  • Reuse – the bottle can be refilled after cleaning. Replace the dispenser if the strength or shape of the mist has changed – residues of the previous contents in the pump cannot be reliably removed.
  • Contact with food and cosmetics – the glass bottle separately has certification for direct contact with food. The set with the dispenser as a whole is intended for cosmetics.
  • Recycling – the glass bottle belongs with glass, the dispenser is a combination of plastics and a metal spring, so before disposal it is unscrewed and sorted separately.

Do not use the set for thick serums, oils or emulsions. The pump either will not draw them up, or the nozzle will create a stream instead of a mist and will clog over time – for such textures a dropper or a cream pump with the same type of neck is more suitable.

Closures and dispensers with the same type of neck, as well as other ready-made packaging + closure combinations, can be found in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dosing and behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 30 ml black glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, the black glossy glass is opaque and does not let light through. It is therefore suitable for hydrosols, plant extracts, vitamin solutions and fragranced preparations whose stability is shortened or colour changed by light. Protection from light does not replace preservation or protection from heat – water-based preparations still need to be preserved and protected from high temperatures.
How much content does the nasal spray dispenser release per press?
With one full press, the dispenser releases approximately 0.12 ml of content in the form of a fine mist. From the nominal volume of 30 ml you thus get roughly around 250 doses; the actual number depends on the completeness of the press and on the small residue at the bottom that the tube can no longer draw up. Before the first use, the pump needs to be pressed several times without liquid until the mist appears.
Is the glass bottle with nasal spray suitable for oils or thick serums?
No, the set is intended for water-based and thin preparations. The pump with a narrow nozzle cannot atomise oils, gels or emulsions – a stream is created instead of a mist or the nozzle clogs. For oil serums the same bottle with a dropper is suitable, and for creams and thick serums a cream pump with the same type of 18/410 neck.
Can I use the glass bottle with nasal spray for food?
The set as a whole is not approved for contact with food. The glass bottle separately has certification for direct contact with food, the dispenser does not, so the assembled set is intended for cosmetic preparations. If you need packaging for food use, choose a bottle with a closure that has its suitability for food contact stated in the parameters.
How is the glass bottle with nasal spray cleaned and can it be reused?
Wash the bottle with warm water and a mild detergent, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry upside down. Glass does not take on fragrances or dyes, so it can be refilled this way repeatedly. Rinse the dispenser and pump it through with clean water or alcohol; if the shape of the mist or the strength of the press changes, replace it with a new one.
