Product description
Glass dropper bottle 100 ml is a complete set for oils, serums and tinctures that are dispensed drop by drop. Green glass limits light exposure to the contents, helping to maintain the stability of ingredients that are sensitive to light. The white-gold dropper picks up small amounts precisely and without spilling, which is especially appreciated with concentrated preparations where every drop counts.
The set is suitable for facial and hair oils, oil-based and water-based serums, essential oil blends in carrier oil, tinctures and alcohol extracts, beard oils or cuticle oils. Both parts are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products and the complete set is intended for cosmetics.
Why choose this set
- Light protection – green glass transmits less light than clear glass, slowing down the degradation of sensitive ingredients such as unsaturated oils, vitamins or essential oils.
- Precise dosing – the glass tube of the dropper draws the contents drop by drop, making it easy to follow the recommended amount of active serum or essential oil blend.
- Glass with no interaction with contents – glass does not absorb fragrances or colorants and does not react with oils, alcohol or most cosmetic active ingredients, making it suitable for repeated use.
- Matching dropper length – the tube reaches almost to the bottom of the bottle, so the contents can be drawn out to the very end without tilting.
- Appearance suitable for selling and gifting – the medicine bottle shape with the white-gold dropper looks clean and suits both natural and minimalist label designs.
Filling and volume
Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is intended for regular filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference between them provides a reserve for the dropper, which displaces some space when screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle will overflow when the dropper is inserted or the contents will seep into the thread and the closure will not seal cleanly.
When filling oils with essential oils or alcohol tinctures, leave free space in the neck according to the nominal volume and tighten the dropper by hand without force. Tightening harder will not improve the seal and is more likely to damage the gasket or thread.
The dropper has a 18/410 thread, the same as the bottle. More closures with this neck type and ready-made sets can be found in the Handymade range. When combining your own, we recommend checking the seal, dosing and packaging behaviour with your specific formulation.
For which contents is the dropper suitable
The dropper works reliably with liquid and low-viscosity preparations: vegetable oils, oil-based serums, water and water-glycerin serums with lower viscosity, hydrolats with added active ingredients, tinctures and macerates. Thicker gels, creams or serums with a higher proportion of thickener are drawn up through the tube with difficulty and drops do not form evenly. For such textures a pump bottle or jar is more suitable.
The dropper combines glass, silicone, aluminium and plastic. The silicone bulb tolerates vegetable and essential oils well. With highly concentrated essential oil blends or strong solvents, we recommend monitoring its behaviour in the finished formulation over several weeks, particularly elasticity and seal.
What is good to know
- Before first filling wash both the bottle and dropper, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in an oil-based product threatens microbial stability.
- Reuse – the glass can be used again after thorough washing and disinfection. Replace the dropper if the bulb has lost its elasticity or the tube has become permanently stained.
- Labelling – the cylindrical medicine bottle shape is easy to label; bottle dimensions are listed in the product specifications. For oil-based products, choose a label adhesive resistant to grease.
- Glass and heat – do not fill the bottle with hot contents and do not expose it to sudden temperature changes. Pouring warm oil into cold glass can cause cracking.
- Recycling – the bottle belongs in glass waste; the dropper is a combination of several materials, so separate it from the bottle before disposing of it.
Green glass filters light, but does not provide the same protection as amber glass. Preparations particularly sensitive to light, for example those with a high retinol content or unstabilised vitamin C, should also be stored in the dark or in a cardboard outer packaging.
