Product description

Glass bottle, green, white-gold dropper, 50 ml

A ready-made set for cosmetics dispensed by drops: a green glass bottle in a vial shape with a nominal volume of 50 ml and a glass dropper with a white bulb and a gold ring. Green glass reduces light exposure to the contents, so the set is particularly suitable for facial serums, oil blends, essential oil blends, tinctures and concentrates, where precise and clean application matters. The contents are drawn up through a glass tube, so nothing from the skin or fingers returns to the bottle. The bottle and dropper are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set as a whole is intended for cosmetics, not for food use.

Why choose this set

  • Light protection – green glass transmits less light than clear glass, which slows down changes in sensitive ingredients such as vegetable oils, essential oils or active ingredients in serums. It is not a complete barrier, however, so the packaging belongs in the shade, not on a sunny windowsill.
  • Precise dosing – the dropper draws up a small amount and allows measuring out several drops, which is practical for concentrated products where only a few drops are applied at a time.
  • Glass does not react with the contents – the glass bottle and the glass tube of the dropper do not absorb fragrances or dyes, so the set is also suitable for essential oils and perfume blends that would degrade ordinary plastics over time.
  • Appearance suitable for gifts and small batches – the combination of green glass, a white bulb and a gold ring gives a cohesive look, so the set is used for small batches of homemade cosmetics, samples or gift packaging.
  • Matched dimensions – the dropper length is matched to this bottle, reaches deep into the contents and allows drawing up even the last remnant of the product.

What the set is suitable for

It works best where the product is applied by drops and a larger amount does not need to be squeezed out of the packaging at once. Typically this includes:

  • facial and hair serums with a water or oil base, applied in small amounts;
  • oil blends for the face, beard and cuticles, where the dropper enables precise application to a small area;
  • essential oil blends and aromatherapy concentrates, for which tinted glass and drop-by-drop dosing are both important;
  • tinctures and alcohol extracts, because glass and the glass tube tolerate ethanol;
  • samples and test batches, when you want to give customers or yourself a small amount without investing in larger packaging.

For thick creams, masks or gels with higher viscosity, a dropper is not suitable. The contents would be difficult to draw up and the bulb would not dispense them evenly.

How to use the set

The bottle has a neck with the thread type indicated in the parameters. The dropper screws directly onto it and, when tightened properly, seals the contents for everyday use and transport in a bag or parcel. Caps with the same thread type and other ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dosing and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation.

When filling, it is important to distinguish between nominal volume and total volume to the brim. The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is intended for during normal filling. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them provides a reserve for the glass tube of the dropper, which displaces the level upwards when screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Therefore, fill only to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise the product will overflow through the neck when the dropper is fitted.

For oil-based and alcohol-based products, keep the bottle upright and do not leave the dropper filled after use. If the contents remain in contact with the silicone bulb for a longer time, they can soften it or absorb its odour, especially with concentrated essential oils.

Good to know

Before first filling, it is recommended to wash and disinfect both the bottle and the dropper with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow them to dry completely. Water residues in the tube would cause cloudiness in oil-based products and would dilute the preservative in water-based products.

The set is intended for repeated use. Glass can be washed and disinfected without any change in properties, but the dropper bulb wears out over time and may lose elasticity after prolonged use with essential oils or ethanol. Therefore, check the condition of the bulb when refilling.

The dropper provides a seal for everyday carrying, but it is not a fully adequate closure for long-term storage of volatile ingredients. If the product contains a high proportion of ethanol or essential oils and is to remain unopened for a longer period, store it with a solid cap and fit the dropper only when beginning use.

The smooth surface of the green glass takes labels well. For oil-based products, use labels with grease-resistant adhesive, otherwise they may peel off after a few days.

Glass is not suitable for sudden temperature changes. Do not fill the bottle with a hot oil phase directly from heating and do not move it from a hot surface to a cold one. Allow the product to cool to room temperature first.

For recycling purposes, the bottle belongs in the glass waste. The dropper is made of several materials (glass tube, plastic ring, aluminium ferrule, silicone bulb), so unscrew it from the bottle before disposal.

Frequently asked questions

Does the green glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, green glass reduces light exposure to the contents, but it is not a complete barrier. For light-sensitive products such as unrefined oils, essential oil blends or serums with active ingredients, a green bottle is more suitable than clear glass. Long-term storage in direct sunlight is not recommended regardless; the packaging belongs in the shade or in a cupboard.
How much product fits in the glass bottle with dropper?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The reserve above the nominal volume is for the glass tube of the dropper, which displaces the level upwards when screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If overfilled, the product will overflow through the neck when the dropper is fitted, soiling both the thread and the label.
Is the glass dropper suitable for essential oils and alcohol tinctures?
Yes, the glass bottle and the glass tube of the dropper tolerate both essential oils and ethanol. The sensitive part is the silicone bulb, which softens with prolonged direct contact with concentrated essential oils. For long-term storage of such a product, it is therefore better to close the bottle with a solid cap and fit the dropper only when beginning use.
Can the glass bottle with dropper be reused?
Yes, the set is intended for repeated filling. Before each new filling, both the bottle and the dropper are washed, disinfected and allowed to dry. Glass does not change with cleaning; for the bulb, it is worth checking whether it is still elastic and seals properly. After prolonged use with oils or ethanol, it may be necessary to replace the dropper.
Is this set suitable for water-based serums with a preservative?
Yes, glass is suitable for water-based products and the dropper enables hygienic dispensing without touching with fingers. The water-based product must be properly preserved, because the dropper is not an airless system and air enters the bottle with each use. It is also important to dry the packaging thoroughly before filling, so that residual water does not dilute the preservative.
Is the green bottle with dropper also suitable for food, for example herbal extracts for internal use?
No, this set is not declared for contact with food. Both the bottle and the dropper carry a declaration of suitability for use with cosmetic products, so the set is intended for cosmetics, aromatherapy and external use. For food-related purposes, choose packaging that lists suitability for food contact in its specifications.
