Product description
Glass bottle, green, with black aluminium cap, 50 ml
Ready-made complete packaging and closure set for oils, tinctures and serums that you want to seal and pour without a dispenser. It consists of a green glass bottle in the shape of a vial with a nominal volume of 50 ml and a black aluminium cap with a sealing insert for the same neck type 18/410. The green glass reduces a portion of the light reaching the contents, the aluminium cap closes the bottle firmly and gives it a simple, clean appearance.
Both the bottle and the cap are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products, so the set is intended for cosmetics. A declaration of conformity and technical documentation are available with the product.
Key benefits
- Green glass and content protection – coloured glass reduces a portion of light, which helps slow changes in scent and colour in oils, tinctures and products with plant extracts.
- Glass without interaction with the contents – glass does not absorb scents, does not react with essential oils or alcohol-based extracts and can be repeatedly cleaned and disinfected.
- Aluminium cap with sealing insert – the expanded polyethylene insert seats against the neck and seals the bottle when tightened by hand. Aluminium does not transmit light and holds its shape.
- Vial shape – straight walls and a narrow neck make it easy to apply a label and enable controlled pouring of small quantities.
- Uniform neck type – the bottle is compatible with other closures of the same neck type, so you can later add a dropper or spray depending on how you want to dispense the contents.
Filling and volume
The bottle has a nominal volume and a total brim volume. The nominal volume is the quantity the container is designed for during standard filling. The total brim volume is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them provides a reserve for the closure and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes, for example with oils or alcohol-based tinctures.
Fill up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If the bottle is overfilled, the contents will reach the thread, the sealing insert will not seat cleanly and when tightened the product will be pushed out or will start to leak during storage.
Before first filling we recommend washing and rinsing the bottle and cap, then disinfecting with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and then allowing to dry completely. Residual water in the glass could introduce moisture into a water-free product or disrupt the concentration of a tincture.
Suitable for products such as
- Facial and body oils – green glass slows the effect of light on unsaturated vegetable oils, the aluminium cap closes the packaging securely during transport.
- Tinctures and alcohol-based extracts – glass does not react with ethanol and does not release any substances into the contents.
- Essential oil blends and fragrance concentrates – strong scents are not absorbed by the glass and the cap with insert limits evaporation.
- Tonics, hydrolats and serums in smaller packaging, especially as travel or trial sizes.
- Samples and trial batches during formula development, where you need the same packaging for multiple variants and clear labelling.
The set is not suitable for thick creams and masks; the narrow neck of the vial is designed for liquid and semi-liquid contents.
Good to know
- Dispensing the contents – the cap seals the contents, it does not dispense. If you want to draw off the product drop by drop or spray it, choose a closure with the same neck type from the Handymade range or a ready-made combination with a dropper or spray.
- Tightening the cap – the aluminium cap only needs to be tightened by hand until you feel resistance. Over-tightening can deform the insert and will worsen rather than improve the seal.
- Seal check – for alcohol-based and oil contents we recommend placing the filled bottle on a paper towel and checking after a few hours whether it is leaking.
- Reuse – the glass can be washed and disinfected repeatedly. With the cap, check that the insert is intact and free from residue of the previous product; replace if damaged.
- Labelling – the flat section of the wall is suitable for applying a label.
- Recycling – glass goes in glass recycling; the aluminium cap, once separated from the bottle, goes in metal recycling.
Glass does not handle sudden temperature changes well. Do not pour a hot oil phase into a cold bottle and allow the product to cool to room temperature before filling, otherwise you risk cracking.
