Product description
The green glass bottle with a nominal volume of 15 ml is supplied as a ready-made set: medicine bottle, plastic dropper insert and black ribbed safety cap. Green glass filters light, so it suits contents that are sensitive to light, for example essential oil blends, oil serums in small volumes, tinctures or samples of your own formulations. The dropper insert dispenses the contents drop by drop, so you take only the amount you need at the moment. All three parts of the set are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.
What the set consists of
- Green medicine bottle – the glass does not react with the contents and the colour filters light, which helps protect oxidation-sensitive ingredients such as essential oils or unsaturated vegetable oils.
- Plastic dropper insert, long version – a clear insert that is pressed into the neck after filling. It dispenses drop by drop when you tilt the bottle.
- Black ribbed safety cap – the ribbing makes it easier to tighten even with oily fingers, and the safety feature protects against unwanted opening. The cap is screwed onto the neck over the dropper insert.
What it is suitable for
The dropper insert dispenses only liquid, thin contents. The set is therefore best suited to aromatherapy blends, single essential oils, alcohol tinctures, oil serums and concentrates that are added drop by drop to a diffuser, to a bath or directly to finished cosmetics. The 15 ml volume is also enough for samples and travel packs of your own products. Thicker emulsions, creams or gels will not pass through the dropper insert, so choose a different type of packaging for those.
Filling and volume
The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed to hold when filled normally. The brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck, and the difference between them is a reserve for the dropper insert and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled only to the nominal volume, never to the brim.
Press the dropper insert into the neck only after filling, and only then screw on the cap. A funnel helps when filling through the narrow neck, so that no contents are left on the thread and the cap seals properly.
Good to know
- Before first filling – wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Residual water in the neck could spoil anhydrous contents.
- Glass and heat – do not pour hot contents into the bottle and avoid sudden temperature changes, as the glass may crack.
- Plastic and essential oils – the dropper insert is made of PP and the cap of PE. With concentrated essential oils, especially citrus ones, we recommend testing how the plastic parts behave on one sample before a larger batch.
- Recycling – glass goes with glass, the dropper insert and cap with plastics. Take the set apart before disposal.
The set is not approved for contact with food. Use it for cosmetic products and raw materials, not for edible oils, syrups or infusions intended for consumption.
