Green Glass Bottle, Black Safety Cap & Dropper 30 ml

The green glass bottle with a volume of 30 ml is supplied as a ready-made set with a plastic dropper insert and a black ribbed safety cap. It is suitable for essential oil blends, oil serums, facial oils, tinctures and concentrates that are dispensed drop by drop. Green glass lets through less light than clear glass, so it is also used for light-sensitive contents.

How the set works

The bottle has the shape of a medicine bottle with an 18/410 neck finish. A plastic dropper insert fits into the neck, closing the opening and letting the contents out one drop at a time. You dispense by tilting the bottle.

The cap screws onto the bottle over the dropper insert. The ribbed surface makes it easier to open.

• Green glass – lets through less light than clear glass.
• Dropper insert – dispenses drop by drop, suitable for thin oils, tinctures, and water-based or alcohol-based solutions.
• Safety cap – screws on over the dropper insert and seals the bottle.
• Glass – does not absorb odour, and after washing the bottle can be used for a different blend.

What it is suitable for

It works best for thin to medium-thick liquids that flow freely through the dropper insert: blends of essential oils for a diffuser or bath, vegetable oils and oil serums, nail oils, tinctures, propolis extracts and concentrated toners. The 30 ml volume corresponds to a common size for a facial serum or a fragrance blend.

Thick oils, gels and emulsions flow slowly or not at all through a dropper insert. A bottle with a pump or a glass dropper is more suitable for them.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is intended for under normal filling. The brimful capacity is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference is the headroom for the dropper insert, which sinks into the neck once inserted. Fill up to the nominal volume. A bottle filled to the brim will overflow when the dropper insert is pushed in.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the dropper insert, rinse them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely.

Glass withstands washing in hot water, but not a sudden change in temperature. Do not pour a hot liquid into a cold bottle or the other way round. The dropper insert is made of polypropylene and the cap of polyethylene. For pure essential oils and solvents, we recommend testing in advance how the dropper insert behaves with your particular blend.

The dropper insert can be removed and the bottle refilled. Wash it after use, and preferably replace it with a new one when you change the product. Glass goes into glass recycling, and the dropper insert and the cap into plastic recycling. You will find closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations in the Handymade range.
