GlucodOX® (guggul in MCT oil) is a natural CO₂-to extract from the resin of the tree Commiphora mukul, also known as guggul. It is obtained by supercritical carbon dioxide extraction using a small amount of ethanol, with coconut-derived MCT oil used as a carrier. This process preserves all active substances of the resin, including guggulsterones and guggulsterols – bioactive compounds with pronounced regenerating and antioxidant effects. The extract has a yellow-brown colour, is clear to slightly turbid and has a delicate, typically balsamic scent. It is standardised to a content of 1.9–2.1 % guggulsterones (HPLC analysis) and more than 2.5 % guggulsterols. GlucodOX® is an extract from the resin of Commiphora mukul, known as guggul, which is traditionally used in Ayurveda. It is obtained by supercritical CO₂ extraction and contains naturally occurring guggulsterones with a regenerating effect on the skin.
MCT oil serves as a carrier that improves the stability and application of the extract. It ensures its even dispersion in formulations and supports the absorption of active substances into the skin.
The extract from guggul has anti-inflammatory, regenerating and antioxidant properties. It helps reduce wrinkles, strengthens skin tissue and improves skin elasticity. It is suitable for mature, dry and sensitive skin.
The abbreviation CO₂-to means total extract – a complete CO₂ extract that contains the full spectrum of bioactive substances, including resins, waxes and lipids. This type of extract is more nourishing and more concentrated than “selective” (CO₂-se) extracts, which contain only volatile components.
