Product description

A green glass bottle with a black dropper is a ready-made set for precise drop-by-drop dispensing of small quantities. Green glass reduces light penetration, making the set particularly suited for contents sensitive to light and oxidation – essential oil blends, facial serums, active ingredient concentrates, small doses of carrier oils and tinctures. The dropper allows dispensing the contents drop by drop, which you will appreciate with ingredients that are dosed in small, precise amounts.

The small 10 ml volume makes the set a practical container for samples, travel sizes or first trial batches where you don't want to commit a larger quantity of raw material. Both the bottle and dropper are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The set as a whole is intended for cosmetic use.

Why choose this set

  • Light protection – green glass transmits less light than clear glass, which slows changes in the scent and colour of essential oils and light-sensitive active ingredients. For normal storage away from direct sunlight, the protection is sufficient.
  • Precise dispensing – the dropper allows withdrawing one to several drops without pouring. With serums and concentrates this means less waste and easier application to the skin or into a mixed blend.
  • Glass does not absorb scents – neither the bottle nor the glass body of the dropper absorbs odours, so after thorough cleaning they can be reused even for a different fragrance.
  • Ready-to-use combination – the dropper has the same neck type as the bottle; no need to select a cap or test whether it fits.

How to work with the set

Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The nominal volume is the quantity the container is designed for during normal filling. The total capacity up to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference creates a margin for the glass body of the dropper, which displaces some of the contents upward when screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If you overfill the bottle, the contents will overflow through the thread when the dropper is inserted, and the closure will seal less effectively.

The dropper consists of a threaded plastic cap, a silicone bulb and a glass pipette body. To dispense, squeeze the bulb, submerge the body in the contents, release and let the drawn liquid fall drop by drop. After use, tighten the dropper to reduce air access to the contents.

Before first filling, wash both the bottle and the dropper, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the glass body of the dropper would enter the anhydrous contents and could cause cloudiness or shorten their stability.

Suitable for products such as

  • Essential oil blends and fragrance compositions – the small volume and drop-by-drop dispensing match the way these ingredients are used.
  • Facial serums and oil serums – the dropper allows applying exactly a few drops to the skin without finger contact with the entire contents.
  • Active ingredient concentrates – aqueous and oil-based solutions that are added drop by drop to a finished cream or mask.
  • Tinctures and alcoholic extracts for cosmetic use – glass is resistant to alcohol and the dropper makes dosing into toners and cosmetic blends easier.
  • Samples and test batches – during formulation development when you want to distribute or set aside a small amount for stability monitoring.

What's good to know

Essential oils and the silicone bulb. The glass body of the dropper does not react with undiluted essential oils. However, the silicone bulb may soften with prolonged direct contact with concentrated essential oils. Store the bottle upright so the contents do not sit in the bulb, and empty the dropper back into the bottle after each use.

Glass and temperature. Sudden temperature changes – such as hot contents poured into a cold bottle – can damage the glass. Allow the contents to cool to approximately room temperature before filling.

Repeated use. Both the bottle and dropper can be used multiple times. After emptying, wash with warm water and detergent; for oily contents, rinse with ethanol first and allow to dry completely. Check the silicone bulb to ensure it holds its shape and draws up liquid. If it has hardened or lost its elasticity, replace the dropper.

Labelling. Space for a label is limited on the small bottle. Transparent labels are harder to read on green glass; labels with a solid background work better.

Recycling. The bottle belongs in glass recycling. The dropper is a composite product made of plastic, silicone and glass; disassemble it into its individual parts before disposal.

The set is not intended for contact with food. Do not use it for edible oils, syrups or herbal extracts intended for consumption. It is intended for cosmetic and technical use.

Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. When creating your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing behaviour and compatibility of the container with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Does a green glass bottle protect contents from light as well as a brown one?
Not entirely – green glass transmits more light than dark amber glass. For normal storage of essential oils, serums and tinctures in a cabinet or away from direct sunlight, the protection is adequate and the contents remain partially visible. If you plan to expose the contents to daylight for extended periods, or are working with a particularly sensitive ingredient, choose amber glass.
How much can a 10 ml bottle with a dropper hold?
The bottle is designed to be filled to the nominal volume of 10 ml. It has a slightly larger total capacity up to the brim, but this margin is reserved for the glass body of the dropper, which displaces the contents upward when screwed in, and for the expansion of the liquid with temperature changes. If filled to the brim, the contents would overflow through the thread and the closure would seal less effectively.
Is the dropper with a silicone bulb suitable for undiluted essential oils?
Yes, with the condition of correct storage. The glass pipette body does not react with essential oils; however, the silicone bulb may soften with prolonged direct contact with concentrated essential oils. Store the bottle upright, empty the dropper back into the bottle after dispensing, and periodically check that the bulb has retained its elasticity.
Can the glass bottle with dropper be used more than once?
Yes, both the bottle and dropper are designed for repeated use. After emptying, wash them; for oily residues, rinse with ethanol, disinfect and allow to dry completely. Glass does not absorb scents, so the bottle can be used for a different composition. The silicone bulb may retain residual fragrance, however; if changing to a significantly different scent, it is better to replace it.
Is this set suitable for water-based serums and tinctures, or only for oils?
It is suitable for aqueous, alcoholic and oil-based contents. Glass is resistant to all three types and the dropper dispenses thin aqueous solutions as well as thicker oils. With very thick serums with a high thickener content, the liquid draws up more slowly. With water-based products, remember to use a preservative – the container itself does not protect the contents from microbial growth.
