Product description

This green glass bottle with a sprayer with a nominal volume of 10 ml is designed for small packs of liquid cosmetics that are applied by spraying. The pharmaceutical bottle and the black fine mist sprayer with overcap form a ready-made set, so you do not need to buy a closure separately or check whether it fits the neck. The coloured glass reduces the amount of light reaching the contents, which is useful for fragrance compositions, hydrolates or toners with more sensitive ingredients. Glass does not react with alcohol or fragrance ingredients, so the bottle is also suitable for alcohol-based perfumes and refreshing sprays.

What it is suitable for

  • Perfumes and fragrance waters – the small volume suits samples, travel packs or testing a new composition before producing a larger batch.
  • Hydrolates and toners – the sprayer applies watery contents evenly and in a thin layer, without fingers touching the contents.
  • Face and hair mists – thin water-based or water-alcohol mixtures without thickeners.
  • Alcohol-based hand sprays – alcohol in a glass bottle that fits into a handbag or pocket.
  • Samples of your own products – the same look for the whole series of samples that you hand out to customers.

The sprayer needs contents with a low viscosity. Oils, serums with a thickener or thicker emulsions will not pass through the nozzle; they produce a jet instead of a mist or block the sprayer. For such products, choose a bottle with a dropper or a pump instead.

Volume and filling

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended for under normal filling. The brimful capacity is the physical volume up to the neck, and you can find it in the parameters. The difference between them is a reserve for the sprayer tube and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes, for example with alcohol mixtures in summer. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

When filling, leave some free space in the neck. If the tube pushes the level up to the brim, the contents will overflow when the sprayer is screwed on and the thread will stay sticky, which makes it harder to unscrew later.

Sprayer and dispensing

One press releases approximately 0.14 ml, so the whole bottle lasts for about 70 presses. Such a dose suits perfumes and toners, where a small amount is needed to cover a larger area. The sprayer tube is longer than the bottle, so shorten it before fitting so that it just reaches the bottom. Cut it at an angle so that the end does not stick to the bottom. After filling, press the sprayer several times to prime it until the tube fills and a mist starts to come out. The black overcap covers the nozzle and prevents accidental pressing during transport.

Good to know

  • Preparation before first filling – wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Rinse the sprayer with alcohol and press it several times without any contents so that the remaining liquid leaves the tube.
  • Reuse – the glass can be used again after washing. Traces of the previous fragrance remain in the plastic part of the sprayer, so we recommend a new sprayer when you change the perfume.
  • Glass and heat – do not fill the bottle with hot contents and do not expose it to sudden temperature changes, as the glass may crack. Let the contents cool down before filling.
  • Plastic and fragrance ingredients – the sprayer is made of polypropylene (PP), which withstands alcohol solutions. For compositions with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking the tightness and function of the sprayer directly with your specific formulation.
  • Different closure – if you want to close the bottle in a different way, you can find closures with the same neck type and ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. With your own combination, check the tightness and dispensing with your contents.
  • Intended use of the packaging – the set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. It is not intended for contact with food.
  • Recycling – glass belongs in glass waste and the PP sprayer in plastics; separate them before disposal.

Frequently asked questions

Does the green glass bottle with a sprayer protect the contents from light?
Partly, yes. Green glass reduces the amount of light reaching the contents, but it does not block it completely. For perfumes, hydrolates or toners with sensitive ingredients, it helps to slow down changes in fragrance and colour, but you should still store the bottle away from direct sunlight. For ingredients that light breaks down quickly, choose amber glass.
How much fits into a 10 ml glass bottle with a sprayer?
The bottle is designed for 10 ml of contents, which is its nominal volume. Physically, a little more fits inside, but this space is a reserve for the sprayer tube and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. If you fill to the brim, the contents will overflow when the sprayer is screwed on, so fill only to the nominal volume. The brimful capacity is stated in the parameters.
Can the 10 ml glass bottle with a sprayer be used for oil or serum?
Not for oils and thicker serums. The sprayer is intended for thin contents such as perfumes, toners or hydrolates. Oil passes through the nozzle with difficulty and produces a jet or drops instead of a mist, and a thickened serum blocks the sprayer. For oils and serums, choose a bottle with a dropper or a pump.
Is the glass bottle with a sprayer suitable for alcohol-based perfume?
Yes, alcohol-based perfumes are one of the main uses of this bottle. Glass does not react with alcohol, and the sprayer made of polypropylene withstands alcohol solutions. For compositions with a high concentration of essential oils, we recommend checking the tightness of the closure and the behaviour of the sprayer with your specific mixture before you fill the whole series.
How do I clean a glass bottle with a sprayer before reusing it?
Wash the bottle in warm water with washing-up liquid, rinse it, disinfect it with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and let it dry upside down. Rinse the sprayer with alcohol, press it several times without any contents and let it dry. Residues of fragrance in the plastic cannot be removed completely, so when you change the perfume, it is better to use a new sprayer.
Can a closure other than the sprayer be used on the green 10 ml glass bottle?
Yes, the bottle has a standard neck type, which is stated in the parameters. Instead of the sprayer, you can fit a dropper, a pump or a cap with the same neck type from the Handymade range. With your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness and dispensing directly with your contents, because different inserts and seals behave differently.
