Product description

Glass bottle, green, black aluminium cap, 10 ml

A small glass vial-shaped bottle in green glass with a black aluminium cap is a ready-to-use complete packaging and closure for small volumes that need light protection and secure sealing. Green glass reduces some light transmission while still allowing partial visibility of the contents, and the black cap gives the packaging a uniform, understated look. Suitable for essential oils, perfume and fragrance oils, oil serums and formula samples.

The set is intended for cosmetic products; both the container and closure are declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. It works well wherever a few millilitres of a concentrated ingredient need to be measured, stored or handed over.

What the set offers

  • Content-resistant glass – does not react with essential oils, alcoholic solutions or vegetable oils, does not absorb fragrance and does not stain. Suitable even for concentrated and aromatic blends that are not compatible with plastic.
  • Partial light protection – green glass transmits less light than clear glass and slows down oxidation of the contents. Protection is weaker than with amber glass.
  • Secure closure – the aluminium cap has an inner sealing insert made of expanded polyethylene (EPE) that seats on the neck and seals it. The contents come into contact with the insert, not the metal.
  • Small volume – the nominal volume of 10 ml corresponds to a typical quantity of essential oils, serum samples or fragrance trials, so there is no need to fill in bulk.
  • Consistent appearance – the combination of green glass and a black cap looks natural and works well with a clean label without bold graphics.

Practical use

The bottle is filled through the neck, most conveniently using a small funnel or a dropper from a larger container. The cap is tightened by hand, without force – it is the insert that seals, not the tightening force. Overtightening unnecessarily compresses the insert and shortens its service life when opened repeatedly.

The set with cap is designed for storage and sealing, not for precise dispensing. Contents are poured out or drawn off with a dropper. If you need drop-by-drop dosing, closures with the same neck type and ready-made bottle + closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. With your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal compatibility with the specific formulation.

Fill to the nominal volume, not to the rim. The total volume to the rim is greater, and the difference is a reserve for the closure and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. A bottle filled to the neck will overflow when closed and the seal will remain contaminated.

Suitable for products such as

  • Essential oils and blends – small volume, glass and light protection are the natural choice for them.
  • Perfume and fragrance oils – the contents do not absorb into the packaging and fragrance does not transfer between fills as easily as with plastic.
  • Facial oils and oil serums in sample or travel size.
  • Formula test samples – during product development, they allow you to set aside versions and compare them over time.
  • Alcoholic tinctures and solutions – glass with a sealing cap handles alcohol without any change in properties.

The set with cap is not intended for aqueous products that are sprayed or pumped – it lacks a dispensing element.

Good to know

Preparation before first filling. We recommend washing and rinsing the bottle and cap before use, disinfecting with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing to dry completely. Residual water in an oil-based content promotes microbial growth and cloudiness.

Repeated use. Glass can be washed and refilled repeatedly; a baking soda solution or alcohol removes residual fragrance. The sealing insert of the cap loses elasticity over time, so check it when refilling and replace the cap as needed.

Glass and temperature. The bottle tolerates normal preparation temperatures, but not sudden changes – do not pour a hot mixture into cold glass. The cap insert softens with heat and loses its seal, so always close with cooled contents.

A label does not adhere to the rounded neck, it is applied to the cylindrical part of the body.

Food contact. The set is declared for contact with cosmetics. Neither the bottle nor the cap is declared for food contact, so it is not intended for household oils or syrups.

Green glass is not a full substitute for dark glass. For essential oils prone to oxidation (citrus, conifer), store filled bottles in a box or in the dark and do not rely solely on the colour of the glass.

Recycling. Glass goes into glass collection, the aluminium cap into metals. Before disposal, simply empty the packaging and unscrew the cap.

Frequently asked questions

Does the green glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Partially, yes. Green glass transmits less light than clear glass and slows down oxidation of oils and essential oils, but it does not filter light as effectively as amber glass. It is sufficient for samples and everyday storage in a cabinet. For long-term storage of sensitive substances, supplement the protection with a dark location or a box.
Is the glass bottle with an aluminium cap suitable for essential oils?
Yes, glass with an aluminium cap is among the most suitable packaging for essential oils. Glass does not react with concentrated fragrances and does not absorb them; the inner sealing insert of the cap separates the contents from the metal. For fragrances that oxidise quickly, the key is to tighten the cap properly and store the bottle in the dark.
How much does a bottle with a nominal volume of 10 ml actually hold?
The volume to the rim is greater than the nominal 10 ml, but the bottle should only be filled to the nominal volume. The difference is a reserve for the closure and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. If the bottle is filled to the neck, it will overflow when closed and the seal will remain contaminated, which impairs both the seal and the appearance of the packaging.
Can the bottle with an aluminium cap be used repeatedly?
Yes, glass can be washed and refilled repeatedly without limitation. Before each subsequent fill, rinse the bottle, disinfect with alcohol and allow to dry completely. The sealing insert of the aluminium cap hardens over time and loses its elasticity, so check it when reusing and replace the cap if it no longer seals.
Is the set with a cap also suitable for aqueous tonics or hydrolates?
For closing and storing, yes; for convenient everyday use, less so. The set with cap only seals the contents; aqueous products are poured from it without dose control. For tonics and hydrolates, a sprayer or dropper with the same neck type is more practical. Aqueous contents also require preservation regardless of the packaging.
