This method is ideal for beginners. You buy a prepared soap base, add a colorant and an essence as you wish. However, this process also has its pitfalls, so we bring you a photo tutorial that will help you when making soap from a soap base.
1. Prepare the necessary raw materials and tools: soap base, colorant (mica), essential oil, alcohol for removing bubbles (you can buy it in a paint and varnish shop), a mug in which we will melt the soap base, a small container for dispersing the colorant, a mold, a spoon, protective gloves.
2. Before actually melting the base, we prepare the colorant. We mix about half a teaspoon of colorant in a small amount of oil (I used rapeseed oil)
3. Cut the soap base into smaller pieces, put them into the mug (store it so that you do not confuse it with a mug for cooking food)
4. Melt the soap base prepared in this way over a low flame; be careful, the base must not reach the boiling point, otherwise it would not harden.
5. Add the essential oil and the prepared colorant to the melted soap base. If the base sets, you can heat it again for a moment. Mix the colorant thoroughly into the base and pour the base into the prepared molds.
6. As soon as we pour the base into the molds, we spray the top of the soap with alcohol, which prevents the formation of air bubbles.
7. After approximately one hour we can remove the hardened soap from the molds and let it cure thoroughly for at least 24 hours. The soap is ready for use.
I believe that the tutorial has inspired you and that you will gladly start making your own soaps :)
Yours, Lucia
