Product description

The UN plastic jerrycan is a practical and durable container made from high-quality plastic material, designed for the safe storage and decanting of various liquid preparations in craft production, cosmetics, household chemicals or during raw material processing. The robust construction and solid walls ensure reliable protection of the contents during handling, transport and long-term storage. Thanks to its stable shape and comfortable handle, the jerrycan is suitable for regular use in both smaller and larger operations where easy handling, cleanliness and clear, well-organised storage of liquids are important.

Possible uses

  • base solutions and intermediates for cosmetic production (surfactants, emulsifiers, auxiliary solutions)
  • working solutions for cleaning work surfaces, tools and accessories in cosmetic and craft production
  • storage of technical liquids and auxiliary preparations used in the production of candles, soaps and household cleaning products
  • stock containers for less viscous liquids which are subsequently decanted into smaller bottles, vials or spray bottles
  • practical container for workshops, studios and craft operations where a larger volume of a single component needs to be readily available

Packaging advantages

  • Stable and robust material – the jerrycan construction allows safe handling even at higher fill levels, while the container retains its shape and resistance to normal mechanical stress.
  • Protection of contents during transport – the container shape is adapted for easy storage, stacking and transport, which reduces the risk of spillage or damage to the contents.
  • Practical handling – the integrated handle and ergonomic shape make pouring and carrying easier even at higher weight, which you will appreciate in everyday use in your facility.
  • Universal use in workshops and production – suitable as a stock container for a wide spectrum of liquid raw materials and auxiliary preparations that are further dosed into smaller packs.
  • Clarity and organisation of inventory – a larger volume in a single container helps keep the storage area clean and organised and makes it easier to keep records of the liquids used.

Combining with closures and dispensers

  • The jerrycan is designed for use with a compatible closure system that ensures reliable sealing and minimises the risk of unintended leakage of the contents.
  • Combinations of containers and closures created directly on Handymade.sk are tested and functional in terms of sealing performance and normal handling.
  • However, for all combinations we recommend always performing your own compatibility test – checking tightness, dosing and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation, especially for more aggressive or atypical mixtures.

Technical parameters

  • All technical parameters of the packaging are specified in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
  • The technical documentation provides detailed information on the material used, suitable types of fills and recommendations for safe use.
  • Before first use, we recommend familiarising yourself with the parameters and checking whether the packaging meets the requirements of your specific application.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Can the plastic jerrycan be used repeatedly?

The jerrycan can be reused if hygiene principles are observed, provided it is not visibly damaged or degraded. Before each new filling, the container must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected, for example using isopropyl alcohol IPA 99% or plant-based ethanol Ethanol 96%. This minimises the risk of microbial contamination and unwanted reactions between residues of the original fill and the new contents.

How should I clean the jerrycan between individual uses?

First we recommend rinsing the jerrycan with a suitable medium (for example water or another diluent compatible with the original fill) to remove gross residues. Then rinse the container mechanically and, after drying, disinfect it using alcohol-based products such as IPA 99% or Ethanol 96%. When cleaning, also follow the recommendations given in the product parameters and in the safety data sheet of the substances you store in the jerrycans.

You offer many types of packaging – how can I find the right one for my product?

The simplest way is to use the advanced filter, which you will find at the top of the page after opening the selected packaging category. In the advanced filter you can combine several parameters at once – for example neck type, pack size, colour and material. In this way you can quickly narrow down the selection to packaging that meets your technical and design requirements and more easily find an optimal solution for a specific product.

How can I safely dispose of or recycle the jerrycan if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to reuse the jerrycan, we recommend recycling it according to the recommendations given in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade.sk website. First empty and rinse the jerrycan as thoroughly as possible so that no residues of the original fill remain. Then place it in the appropriate separate collection stream according to the material designation on the packaging. If the container has been used for chemical or specific technical substances, also follow the instructions in the safety data sheet of these substances and the local rules for waste management.

What should I pay attention to when filling the jerrycan with different types of liquids?

When filling the jerrycan, it is important to verify the compatibility of the packaging material with the specific liquid, especially if it contains concentrated or more aggressive components. We recommend starting with a smaller test quantity and monitoring any changes in the appearance, odour or mechanical properties of the packaging. At the same time, observe the maximum recommended filling temperature specified in the product parameters and do not overfill the jerrycan so that the closure can seal safely even during handling and transport.
