WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?
Essential oils, also called ethereal oils, are natural aromatic substances that come from various parts of plants – trunks, roots, seeds, flowers, leaves, etc. They give plants their characteristic scent and, in addition, they also have healing and protective effects. They have a very positive effect on symptoms on the physical, emotional and mental levels.
Their chemical composition is fairly complex. Essential oils are most often obtained from plants by distillation, extraction or pressing. Essential oils are highly concentrated and are used directly on the skin only after dilution with carrier vegetable oils (almond, apricot, jojoba, etc.). The only exceptions are tea tree and lavender essential oils, which you can apply directly.
Use essential oils for inhalation or in your cosmetic products; we do not recommend the consumption of any essential oils of any brands.
Essential oils are fat-soluble, so if you want to use them in products that do not contain oils and butters, use a solvent /solubilizer/.
HOW CAN I USE THE ESSENTIAL OIL?
Cosmetics and soap making – the required amount of essential oil depends on the specific formula and the quantity produced. Inhalation, steaming – drip a few drops of essential oil into an aroma lamp, diffuser, or into a container of hot water.Bath – mix the drops of oil into a base oil /coconut, olive.../, into 1 dl of milk or into a teaspoon of honey, and pour this mixture into the bathtub. Essential oils on their own are insoluble in water, the drops would float on the surface.Massage – add a few drops of essential oil into a cold-pressed vegetable oil (approx. 50 ml) and mix well. Enjoy a pleasant massage.Sauna – you can choose from conifers, rosemary, eucalyptus, sage, mint or citrus fragrances. The number of drops depends on the size of the sauna and your taste.
Essential oils are also widely used in skin care, local compresses, hair masks, oral care...
