Product description

Damask rose essential oil is one of the very rare and valuable essential oils. It is produced by steam distillation of rose petals, which must be processed immediately after harvesting. The rarity of this oil is related to the fact that the petals contain only a small amount of essences; up to 10,000 flowers are needed for 5 ml of essential oil.

The Damask rose provides an essential oil with a characteristic rose fragrance. This oil is used in everyday skin care, helping to improve skin tone, hydrate the skin evenly and minimise the appearance of skin imperfections. The scent of Damask rose essential oil has relaxing and soothing properties.

Essential oils may have an irritant effect on sensitive skin; if irritation occurs, do not continue to use the product. Avoid application in the eye area. Essential oils are 100% concentrated and, after being mixed with vegetable oils, are easily absorbed into the skin. They are fat-soluble.

All supplied raw materials are of cosmetic grade, not suitable for internal use. Use appropriate protective equipment when handling.

Do you know what the shelf life of essential oils is, how to store them correctly, or which essential oils to combine? You can read everything about essential oils on our blog.

WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?

Essential oils, also called ethereal oils, are natural aromatic substances that come from various parts of plants – stems, roots, seeds, flowers, leaves, etc. They give plants their characteristic fragrance and, in addition, they also have therapeutic and protective effects. They have a very positive effect on symptoms on the physical, emotional and mental levels.

Their chemical composition is rather complex. Essential oils are obtained from plants most often by distillation, extraction or pressing. Essential oils are highly concentrated and are used directly on the skin only after dilution with carrier vegetable oils (almond, apricot, jojoba, etc.). The only exceptions are tea tree and lavender essential oils, which you can apply directly.

Use essential oils for inhalation or in your cosmetic products; we do not recommend the consumption of any essential oils of any brands.

Essential oils are fat-soluble, therefore if you want to use them in products that do not contain oils and butters, use a solvent /solubiliser/.

HOW CAN I USE AN ESSENTIAL OIL?

Cosmetics and soap making – the required amount of essential oil depends on the specific formula and the batch size.
Inhalation, steaming – drip a few drops of essential oil into an aroma lamp, diffuser, or a vessel with hot water.
Bath – mix the drops of oil in a base oil /coconut, olive.../, in 1 dl of milk or in a teaspoon of honey, and pour this mixture into the bathtub. Pure essential oils are insoluble in water; the drops would float on the surface.
Massage – add a few drops of essential oil to a cold-pressed vegetable oil (approx. 50 ml) and mix well. Enjoy a pleasant massage.
Sauna – you can choose from conifers, rosemary, eucalyptus, sage, mint or citrus fragrances. The number of drops depends on the size of the sauna and your preference.

Essential oils are also popular in skin care, local compresses, hair masks, in oral hygiene care...
