Yuzu essential oil is a citrus essential oil similar to bergamot. It is obtained by pressing the peels of the lemon-like yuzu fruits that resemble mandarins. Yuzu essential oil has a scent close to grapefruit or mandarins with subtle undertones of bergamot and lime. Thanks to this, yuzu essential oil has a very refreshing effect on the body, and you can use it in both men’s and women’s cosmetics.
Yuzu is known for its high vitamin C content and its essential oil helps to release tension, supports sleep and relieves emotional stress. The essential oil is rich in antioxidants and is used in cosmetics as an active ingredient because it helps to brighten and slightly lighten the skin and to even out its tone. Essential oils are pure and are very easily absorbed into the skin. They are fat-soluble. All supplied raw materials are of cosmetic grade, not suitable for internal use. Use appropriate protective equipment when handling.
Do you know what the shelf life of essential oils is, how to store them correctly, or which essential oils to combine? You can read everything about essential oils on our blog.
WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?
Essential oils, also called ethereal oils, are natural aromatic substances that come from various parts of plants – trunks, roots, seeds, flowers, leaves, etc. They give plants their characteristic fragrance and, in addition, they also have healing and protective effects. They have a very positive effect on symptoms on the physical, emotional and mental level.
Their chemical composition is fairly complex. The essential essences are most often obtained from plants by distillation, extraction or pressing. Essential oils are highly concentrated and are used directly on the skin only after dilution with carrier vegetable oils (almond, apricot kernel, jojoba, etc.). The only exception is tea tree and lavender essential oil, which you can apply directly.
Use essential oils for inhalation or in your cosmetic formulations; we do not recommend the consumption of any essential oils of any brands.
Essential oils are fat-soluble, so if you want to use them in products that do not contain oils and butters, use a solvent /solubilizer/.
HOW CAN I USE THE ESSENTIAL OIL?
Cosmetic and soap making – the required amount of essential oil depends on the specific recipe and the quantity being produced. Inhalation, steaming – drip a few drops of essential oil into an aroma lamp, diffuser or a container with hot water.Bath – mix the drops of oil in a base oil /coconut, olive.../, in 1 dl of milk or in a teaspoon of honey, pour this mixture into the bathtub. Essential oils alone are not soluble in water; the drops would float on the surface.Massage – add a few drops of essential oil to cold-pressed vegetable oil (approx. 50 ml) and mix well. Enjoy a pleasant massage.Sauna – you can choose from conifer, rosemary, eucalyptus, sage, mint or citrus fragrances. The number of drops depends on the size of the sauna and your taste.
Essential oils are also commonly used in skin care, local compresses, hair masks, oral hygiene care...
