Gentle care from plants in the form of floral waters as the basis for your formulations

What are hydrolates (floral waters) and how are they made?

Hydrolates, also known as floral waters, are by-products of the distillation of plants to extract essential oils. In this process, the plant material (flowers, leaves, stems or fruits) is exposed to water vapour. The steam extracts the aromatic and active substances, which, when cooled, are transformed into two parts: the essential oil and the aqueous condensate, which we call the hydrolate.

The hydrolates contain trace amounts of essential oils and soluble plant substances. This gives them gentle but effective properties and makes them suitable for sensitive or children's skin.
