Product description

Keragreen is a plant-based rapeseed wax designed specifically for the production of container candles (candles in glass, tins and containers). The raw material is made from rapeseed oil, which undergoes hydrogenation and subsequent fractionation, transforming the liquid oil into a stable solid wax mass suitable for candle-making applications. Keragreen represents an alternative to paraffin and soy waxes, with an emphasis on plant origin and good technological properties when pouring into containers.
Thanks to the optimised temperature range of melting and solidification, Keragreen provides even burning, good adhesion to the container walls and a stable appearance of the candle surface.

Key benefits

  • Plant origin – made from rapeseed oil.
  • Optimised for container candles.
  • Good adhesion to container walls – minimises wax separation.
  • Even and stable burning.
  • Light ivory colour suitable for a natural appearance of candles.

Suitable for products such as

  • container candles in glass and tins
  • aromatic and perfumed candles
  • interior decorative candles
  • candles intended for home and craft use

Use in formulation

  • Soluble in the oil phase; before use, the wax must be completely melted.
  • Miscible with selected plant waxes and additives intended for candles.
  • Compatible with fragrance and perfumery oils intended for candles.
  • The melting point is approximately in the range of 48–52 °C.
  • The solidification temperature is approximately 32–42 °C.
  • It is recommended to add during cooling (at a temperature below 40 °C).
  • Exact dosing of fragrances and additives is not available and it is recommended to determine it by testing according to the type of container and wick.

Safety and storage

  • Raw material intended for technical and candle-making use.
  • When handling molten wax, ensure protection against burns.
  • Store in a dry place, protected from heat and direct sunlight.
  • Protect from moisture and mechanical damage to the packaging.

FAQ

Is Keragreen also suitable for freestanding candles?

No. Keragreen is designed exclusively for container candles and is not intended for the production of freestanding pillar or moulded candles.

What colour does Keragreen have after solidification?

The wax naturally has a light ivory colour, which is suitable for a natural or minimalist candle design.

How does it affect wick selection?

As with any container wax, it is necessary to test the type and size of the wick according to the container diameter and the content of fragrance oils.

Is Keragreen comparable to soy wax?

Keragreen often has better adhesion to container walls and more stable burning, but the result always depends on the specific formulation.

In what form is the wax supplied?

Keragreen is supplied in the form of microgranules (pastilles), which facilitate dosing and melting.
