Product description

Keragreen sunflower wax is a 100% vegetable wax obtained by hydrogenation of sunflower oil. It has a slightly creamy to white colour, a neutral fragrance and a fine texture that ensures a smooth candle surface. It is made in Europe, without the use of palm oil and GMO raw materials. The wax is suitable for making natural and vegan candles with a low carbon footprint.

Use in formulation

• Melting: melt the wax evenly at 65 - 75 °C, avoid overheating above 85 °C.
• Fragrance addition: add at around 70 °C, mix well for even dispersion.
• Pouring temperature: recommended 60-65 °C (for jar candles); may be slightly higher in a cold room.
• Colouring: suitable for powdered or liquid dyes intended for vegetable waxes.
• Stabilisation: allow the candle to cure and mature for at least 48 hours before testing.

Dosage and combinations

• Recommended fragrance dosage: up to 7% depending on the type of fragrance and the desired intensity of the aroma.
• Combinable with other natural waxes (to improve hardness or increase shine).
• Suitable for fragrances and essential oils intended for candles (IFRA category 12).

Safety and control principles

• The product is not classified as hazardous - safe for use in cosmetics and candle making.
• Observe basic safety precautions when handling hot wax - avoid contact with skin and eyes.
• Do not dispose of wax waste down the drain, keep away from heat sources and direct sunlight.

Storage and stability

• Store in a dry and shaded area at temperatures up to 25 °C, away from moisture and dust.
• Avoid prolonged overheating - may cause discolouration and fragrance stability.

Technical tips for practice

• Preheat the container to 40 - 50 °C so that the wax adheres better and does not form 'wet spots'.
• Trim the wick to 6mm before each use - this will ensure an even burn and a clean flame.
• For larger vessel diameters, use a larger or multiple wick for an even melting surface.
