Product description

KeraSOy massage is a natural soy wax blend developed specifically for container massage candles. It is biodegradable, vegan, palm-oil-free and dermatologically tested. It is characterized by a low melting point, a pleasant temperature of the molten wax on the skin and very good compatibility with fragrances intended for natural waxes.

Key benefits

  • Optimized for container massage candles – pleasantly low application temperature.
  • Excellent fragrance retention; recommended dosage up to 10–12 % (depending on the type of fragrance).
  • No need for additives – it is sufficient to add fragrance and colourant as required.
  • Vegan, palm-oil-free, with declared dermatological testing.
  • Can be remelted and repoured; easy processing.

Suitable for products such as

  • Container massage candles (spa, home wellness, aromatherapy).
  • Ritual and relaxation candles with direct skin contact (using body-safe perfumations).

Use in formulation

  • Melting: heat the wax evenly; it can tolerate higher temperatures for a short time (up to ~90 °C), then cool down quickly. Prolonged overheating may cause discolouration.
  • Temperature for colouring: powder colourants are best dissolved at around 70–75 °C; with liquid colours or when uncoloured, work at around ~70 °C.
  • Fragrance: add just before pouring; recommended level up to 10–12 % (prefer fragrances developed for natural waxes).
  • Pour temperature: approximately 45–55 °C (closer to the congealing point for better adhesion to glass).
  • Wicks: natural waxes often require a slightly larger wick than paraffin; always test with the specific fragrance, colour and container diameter.
  • Stabilisation: allow the candles to rest for 48 hours before testing and evaluating flame/fragrance.

Dosage and combinations

  • Fragrance components: 0–10 % (max. 12 % according to TDS and compatibility of the specific fragrance). For massage candles, use only cosmetically safe perfumes/essential oils and respect IFRA limits.
  • Colouring: compatible with common dyes for natural waxes (powder, liquid, blocks/chips).
  • Blending: the blend is miscible with related natural waxes (e.g. other soy blends) – always test final compatibility.

Storage and stability

  • Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct heat, sunlight and moisture.
  • Do not repeatedly and long-term heat above ~85 °C; discolouration and deterioration of properties may occur.

Technical tips for practice

  • Pre-pouring into preheated containers (~45–50 °C) improves adhesion to glass.
  • If it is necessary to level the surface in larger-diameter containers, pour a small amount of wax a few degrees warmer than the original pour, before the candle has completely cooled.
  • Trim the wick to approx. 6 mm, monitor mushrooming and change the wick type/size as needed.

FAQ

Is KeraSoy Massage safe for the skin?

The manufacturer declares vegan origin, palm-oil-free composition and dermatological testing of the blend. However, always perfume massage candles with suitable (IFRA) components and recommend a patch test for sensitive skin.

What is the recommended fragrance dosage?

The manufacturer states up to 10–12 % depending on the type of fragrance. For products in contact with the skin, respect IFRA limits and test compatibility with the wax.

At what temperature should I pour massage candles made from KeraSoy Massage?

In general 45–55 °C; fine-tune the exact temperature according to container diameter, type of fragrance and desired surface. Add the fragrance just before pouring.

Is it necessary to add additives or hardeners?

No, the blend is designed to work without additives. Only fragrances and, if necessary, colours compatible with natural waxes are added.

How do I find out which fragrance is suitable for candles?

In the description of each fragrance on Handymade.sk you will find information about suitability of use – whether it is intended for candles, cosmetics or both. For fragrances suitable for candles, look for the designation „vhodné do sviečok“ or „určené pre vosky“. For complete certainty, also check the IFRA document – classic candles fall into IFRA category 12. However, if you are making massage candles or body candles, look for fragrances intended for cosmetic use and follow the relevant IFRA categories for products in contact with the skin according to the specific product type.

What is the melting point of the wax and why is it important?

This wax has a lower melting temperature, typically around 45.5 °C (range 42–48 °C). Thanks to this, the molten wax is pleasantly warm when in contact with the skin and suitable for massage candles. After melting and pouring onto the skin, it is thus pleasant and, when used correctly, generally does not pose a risk of burning.
