Kerawax Coconut Container 4135 has been developed as a natural wax blend specifically for the production of container candles. It is a blend of hydrogenated vegetable waxes (coconut and soy wax) – with no addition of other wax bases or paraffins. It has a slightly creamy to white colour, very good adhesion to the container wall, low viscosity and a low melting point, which allows efficient processing and good fragrance release. The blend is vegan, palm-oil free, GMO free, additive free, suitable for environmentally friendly and “green” candles.

Use in formulation (manufacturer’s recommendations)

• Melting: Melt the wax evenly, avoiding overheating above 90 °C; ideally melt to approximately 70 °C before adding fragrance or colour.
• Addition of colour and fragrance: When using colourants or fragrances, take care – dissolve colourants for example around 75 °C, add the fragrance at 60-65 °C.
• Pouring temperature: 55-65 °C is recommended, depending on container size and conditions.
• Stabilisation: After pouring, allow the candle to cure optimally at room temperature and to mature for at least 48 hours before the first lighting or burn test.

Dosage and combinations

• Recommended fragrance load: typically 7-10 % depending on fragrance intensity and character of perfuming. Some tests indicate the possibility of up to 10-12 %.
• The wax can be combined with other vegetable waxes (e.g. soy wax) to adjust hardness, surface effect or cost — testing is always recommended.
• Compatibility with colours: suitable for the use of powder, liquid or wax colourants intended for vegetable waxes.

Safety and regulatory principles

• The wax is not classified as a hazardous substance.
• When handling molten wax, observe standard safety measures – protection against burns, use of recommended containers and proper ventilation.
• Dispose of wax residues according to local regulations – do not pour molten wax into the drainage system.

Storage and stability

• Store the wax in a dry place, protected from direct sources of heat and sunlight. Ideal temperature up to 25 °C.
• Avoid long-term overheating or exposure to high temperatures – this may lead to softening of the wax, loss of structure or change of properties.

Technical tips for practice

• Preheating: It is recommended to preheat the container to approximately 40-50 °C to improve wax adhesion to the wall and eliminate cracks or “wet spots”.
• For larger containers (diameter > 70 mm) it is recommended to test a larger or multiple wick – vegetable blends may have different burning characteristics compared to classic paraffin.
• Trim the wick to approximately 6-8 mm before the first lighting (depending on container diameter). Monitor the flame, container cleanliness and fragrance – if necessary, fine-tune the wick type/size.
