Food-grade citric acid (also known as E330) is an essential ingredient in the production of fizzy bath bomb s and an indispensable helper in household cleaning. You will also find it useful in shampoos, creams, liquid soaps, shower gels, cleaning and laundry products and nail polishes.

It is added to cosmetic products to balance and maintain pH, prolong the life of products, but also to cleanse, whiten and astringent the skin.
Citric acid occurs naturally in plants such as citrus, raspberries, blackberries. It is very soluble in both water and alcohol.

It is a white fine crystalline powder.

Citric acid occurs as monohydrate or anhydrous citric acid. Citric acid monohydrate contains 1 molecule of water and crystallizes cold, while anhydrous citric acid crystallizes hot. Anhydrous citric acid crystals are smaller and finer.
