For cleaning your household, it is useful to have acetic acid at hand. It is an ecological natural cleaning agent that is gentle on the environment.

You will use it in the fight against limescale as well as grease. The offered acetic acid in a 20 % concentration is thus sufficiently strong to remove limescale deposits or other impurities, while at the same time its concentration is safe for domestic use. We recommend diluting it with water in a ratio of 1:1, always acetic acid into water, never the other way round.

For window cleaning, try a mixture of equal parts acetic acid and warm water; you can additionally add a little soap if the windows are very dirty. However, avoid applying it to window frames. You can remove burnt-on food residues from the microwave oven by placing a bowl with equal parts water and acetic acid inside and briefly switching on the microwave. In a similar way, you can also clean the dishwasher or the washing machine; switch it on empty while pouring a mixture of equal parts water and acetic acid into the detergent compartment and onto the bottom of the dishwasher.

For cleaning floors, also use a mixture of equal parts acetic acid and water; the same solution will help you clean the kitchen sink, cutting boards, the refrigerator or the electric kettle, from which you will thus remove limescale.

Try pouring undiluted acetic acid into the toilet and let it act overnight. It will not only help you with cleaning, but you will also get rid of unpleasant odours. Do not use it on natural stone such as granite or marble; acetic acid could damage them. Undiluted, it also has a negative effect on wood.
