Product description

The white PET bottle with a black mini trigger sprayer is a ready-made packaging solution for water-based and thin cosmetic products applied as a fine mist: toners, hydrosols, refreshing face and body sprays, hair sprays, leave-in conditioners and thin herbal infusions. The plastic is lightweight and unbreakable, which you will appreciate with sprays that are carried in a bag or kept in the bathroom. The 250 ml volume is enough for a larger pack of toner or body spray, both for making products to sell and for your own use.

The set consists of two components with a 24/410 neck finish: a bottle and a mini trigger sprayer with a smooth collar. You screw the sprayer directly onto the thread of the bottle and the packaging is ready to fill.

What the set offers

  • Fine mist spraying – the mini trigger sprayer distributes the contents evenly onto the skin or hair, without dripping and without touching the product by hand.
  • Dose of approximately 0.2 ml – one press releases a small, repeatable amount, which you can rely on when writing usage instructions for your customers.
  • Unbreakable and lightweight – the plastic withstands drops and transport better than glass and does not increase postage costs.
  • Black and white combination – a neutral look suitable for both skin care and hair care cosmetics.

What the set is suitable for

The sprayer is designed for contents with a water-like consistency or only slightly thicker. Suitable products include facial toners, hydrosols, micellar water sprays, refreshing and cooling sprays, hair sprays with moisturising ingredients, detangling products, alcohol-based hand disinfectant sprays, and fabric and room fragrances in a water-alcohol base.

Oils, thick serums, emulsions and gels are difficult to apply with a mini trigger sprayer. They produce an uneven mist, and the nozzle may leak or become clogged. For these products, choose a bottle with a pump or a cap from the Handymade range instead.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed to hold when filled normally. The bottle has somewhat more space up to the neck, but this reserve is taken up by the dip tube and the body of the sprayer. For this reason, fill it to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If you overfill it, the contents are pushed out through the neck when the sprayer is screwed on and soil the thread.

The dip tube of the sprayer is supplied with extra length. Before first use, cut it at an angle so that it reaches just above the bottom of the bottle. A tube that is too long bends and the sprayer then draws in air, while one that is too short leaves an unused residue at the bottom.

Good to know

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics, and the declaration of conformity is available with the product. Only the bottle has a separate certificate for direct contact with food. The sprayer does not have one, so use the set as a whole for cosmetic products, not for food purposes.

Before first filling, wash and rinse the bottle and the sprayer, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Pump the sprayer several times with clean water and let it dry with the dip tube pointing downwards. Repeat the same procedure each time you reuse the packaging, otherwise residues of the previous contents will affect the stability of the new product.

Do not fill PET with hot contents. Let the liquid cool to room temperature, otherwise the bottle will change shape.

Do not expose the bottle to aggressive chemicals. For formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils, solvents or strong fragrance compositions, we recommend letting the filled packaging stand for several weeks and monitoring the wall of the bottle, the tightness of the thread and the function of the sprayer.

You will find closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations of a bottle with a pump or a cap in the Handymade range. When putting together your own combination, check the tightness, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.

The bottle is made of PET and the sprayer of PP. Before handing them over for recycling, separate the two parts so that they end up in the correct material stream.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 250 ml plastic bottle with a mini trigger sprayer suitable for hydrosol or toner?
Yes, water-based products such as hydrosols, toners and refreshing sprays are the most suitable contents for this set. The mini trigger sprayer produces an even mist from thin liquids, and a dose of approximately 0.2 ml per press is enough to refresh the skin and hair without dripping. Before filling, let the hydrosol or toner cool to room temperature, as PET is deformed by hot contents.
Can I apply oil from this bottle with a sprayer?
No, the mini trigger sprayer is not designed for oils or thick products. Pure oil comes through the nozzle only in drops or in an uneven stream, and the mechanism gradually becomes clogged. For body and hair oils, choose a bottle with a pump, a cap or a dropper.
How much product does one press of the sprayer release?
One press releases approximately 0.2 ml of product. With a nominal volume of 250 ml, this corresponds to over a thousand presses per filling, and with an ordinary toner it means a few presses per use. The figure is indicative, as the actual dose depends on the thickness of the contents and the force of the press.
Why is the bottle with a sprayer not filled to the brim?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 250 ml, because the remaining space below the neck is taken up by the dip tube and the body of the sprayer. If you fill it to the brim, the contents are pushed out through the thread when the sprayer is screwed on, soil the neck and the packaging then leaks. Cut the dip tube just above the bottom so that the sprayer draws up the last of the contents as well.
Can the set be used for food, for example kitchen oil or syrup?
No, the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products. Only the white bottle has its own certificate for direct contact with food, while the mini trigger sprayer does not. If you need a bottle for food purposes, combine it with a closure whose suitability for food contact is stated in its parameters.
