Product description
The amber PET bottle with a capacity of 150 ml and a black mini trigger sprayer makes a ready-made set for facial toners, hydrosols, hair sprays, air and fabric fresheners, or alcohol hand sprays. The amber colour reduces the amount of light reaching the contents, which suits products containing plant extracts, essential oils and other ingredients that are sensitive to light. The plastic bottle is light and unbreakable, so it holds up in a handbag, on a bathroom shelf, and when sold at markets or in a salon.
The sprayer with a 24/410 neck finish disperses a thin liquid into fine droplets, so a toner or hydrosol is applied evenly to the face or hair without touching it with your hands. One press releases approximately 0.2 ml, so dispensing is economical and easy to repeat. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products, and the EU declaration of conformity is available with the product.
What the set is suitable for
- Facial toners and hydrosols – low-viscosity water-based solutions pass smoothly through the sprayer and can be applied even to sensitive areas without pressing with your fingers.
- Hair sprays – leave-in conditioning sprays, products to refresh curls, or water with added hydrosol for styling.
- Alcohol solutions – hand sprays, air fresheners and linen fragrances based on ethanol. If the formulation contains a high proportion of other solvents, we recommend testing how the packaging behaves first.
- Sprays for yoga mats and accessories – thin water-alcohol blends with hydrosols or a small amount of essential oils incorporated using a solubiliser.
Nominal and total capacity
The nominal capacity of 150 ml is the amount the bottle is designed to hold when filled normally. The total brimful capacity, given in the parameters, is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the dip tube and the body of the sprayer, which take up part of the space once screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill the bottle to the nominal capacity. If it is filled up to the neck, the contents will overflow when the sprayer is fitted and the thread will get dirty.
Before first use, compare the dip tube of the sprayer with the height of the bottle. It is longer than the bottle needs and bends in a filled bottle. Shorten it with a sharp knife using a diagonal cut so that it ends just above the bottom. The sprayer will then draw up the contents down to the last millilitres.
What to know before filling
The mini trigger sprayer is built for liquids with a viscosity close to that of water. It either will not draw up gels, emulsions and thick oils, or they come out as a stream instead of a mist and the nozzle clogs. With light oils the behaviour differs depending on the specific formulation, so test it on one piece before you fill the whole batch.
Undiluted essential oils, pure solvents and aggressive chemicals do not belong in a PET bottle. In a finished spray, where the essential oil is included at a normal usage rate and properly solubilised, problems do not usually occur. However, leave every new formulation in the packaging for a few weeks and check that the plastic does not turn cloudy and that the sprayer continues to seal. Hot contents deform PET, so fill the bottle only after the contents have cooled to room temperature.
Water-based and hydrosol sprays need a preservative. The amber bottle limits the amount of light reaching the contents, but it does not stop the growth of microorganisms in a water-based environment by itself. The set is intended for cosmetic products and home sprays, and it is not declared for contact with food.
Before first filling, wash the bottle, rinse it, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and leave it to dry completely. Rinse the sprayer by spraying alcohol or boiled water through it several times, and leave it to drain with the dip tube pointing down.
After thorough washing, the set can be reused. Replace the sprayer when it stops sealing or no longer disperses evenly. The bottle has a 24/410 neck finish, and closures with the same neck type, as well as other ready-made combinations, can be found in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, check the tightness and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation. The bottle is made of PET and the sprayer of PP. Separate them before disposal, as both go into plastics recycling.
