Pullulan DuoLux CM, 10 g

Pullulan is a naturally occurring polysaccharide with low viscosity which, after being dissolved in water, has good adhesive and foam-forming properties. Thanks to these properties, Pullulan can be used to create a pleasant smoothness in skin care, hair care and cleansing products, while leaving a natural silicone-like feel on the skin. Due to its ability to form easily soluble films and face masks, Pullulan serves as an effective and stable carrier of active ingredients, colorants and fragrances.

Its key properties in cosmetic products are as follows:

Formation of a protective film:

• Pullulan forms a fine, non-sticky film on the surface of the skin or hair.
• This film is flexible, breathable and provides protection against external factors.

Firming effect:

• It has an immediate firming and tightening effect, which is ideal for anti-aging products, lifting masks or serums.
• It leaves the skin smooth and taut.

Hydration and protection:

• Helps maintain moisture in the skin and reduces transepidermal water loss (TEWL).
• Protects the skin against harmful environmental influences.

Stabilizer:

• Acts as a stabilizer in emulsions and increases viscosity in aqueous solutions.
• It is often used as a carrier for active substances and improves their penetration.

Pullulan is easily soluble in water and is stable over a wide pH range. Importantly, a Pullulan solution does not have high viscosity, therefore after being added to solutions it does not affect the viscosity.

Pullulan is a safe and non-toxic ingredient. In addition, it is non-comedogenic and does not cause acne.

It is produced by fermentation of starch using the yeast Aureobasidium pullulans. It is not synthetic and no animal-derived products are used in its manufacture, therefore it is considered vegan-friendly.

Recommended dosage: 0.1 - 5 % (3 - 5 % for temporary skin tightening)
