The aluminium jar with lid is a practical and elegant packaging solution suitable for a wide range of cosmetic and craft products. Thanks to its compact design and reliable closure, it is ideal for smaller portions of creams, ointments, balms or solid products where protection of the contents and easy handling are important. The metal construction helps protect more sensitive blends from external influences, thereby contributing to the stability of the composition and extending the product’s shelf life.
The jar is suitable for packaging thicker and more solid preparations where a sturdy, well-sealing lid is required. The smooth inner surface allows comfortable dosing and removal of the product and makes cleaning easier in case of repeated use. Thanks to the combination of low weight and durable material, this packaging is a practical choice not only for DIY formulations at home, but also for smaller brands and artisan manufacturers who are looking for a representative and at the same time functional pack.
This jar forms a complete packaging set with lid, so there is no need to purchase separate closures or dispensers. The combinations of containers and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation) so that you can be sure the packaging fully meets the requirements of the specific product.

Yes, the jar can be reused provided that hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be cleaned thoroughly and then disinfected with an appropriate product, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For this purpose, you can use the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. Only after it is completely dry is the jar ready for refilling.
The aluminium jar is most often used for packaging denser and solid cosmetic preparations such as lip balms, facial and body ointments, creams for topical use, solid deodorant, massage balms or solid perfume. It is also suitable for small test samples and travel-size packs of products where compactness, low weight and reliable closure are important.
Before the first filling, we recommend mechanically cleaning the jar from any possible dust, then washing it with a suitable cleaning agent and rinsing it well. After drying, it is advisable to disinfect the inner surface with an alcohol-based disinfectant, for example with the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. Allow the disinfectant to act and evaporate, and only then fill the jar so that your formulation is not compromised.
If you decide not to use the jar further, we recommend that after emptying and basic cleaning you place it into the recycling stream according to the material specified in the parameter table for the product. As it is a metal packaging, in most cases it is sorted among metal packaging, but always follow the local rules for waste separation and the recommendations of your waste collection company. By correctly placing it into separated collection, you contribute to more efficient use of raw materials and to reducing the amount of waste.
