After harvesting, the seeds are processed using traditional or mechanical methods and the fat fraction is then separated without refining, so the butter retains its natural character, colour, texture and accompanying substances. It is precisely this minimal processing that is the reason why unrefined shea butter is a sought-after raw material in the production of natural cosmetics intended for dry, stressed and discomfort-prone skin.
In cosmetic formulations it is valued especially for its emollient, protective and nourishing effect. On the skin it creates a pleasant protective film, improves comfort in case of dryness and contributes to a supple feeling after application.
