Product description

Rosehip CO₂-to extract BIO is a high-quality plant oil obtained from dried fruits of Rosa canina (rosehip) using supercritical carbon dioxide extraction. This modern and gentle process is carried out without chemical solvents, heavy metals or microbiological contaminants, while preserving the full spectrum of bioactive substances present in rosehips. It has a clear to slightly cloudy dark red colour, a pleasant fruity aroma and an oily consistency. The extract is stabilised with a small amount of organic rosemary antioxidant, which protects the oil against oxidation and extends its shelf life. It is a CO₂-to (total extract) – a complete extract containing all lipid components of the plant, including fatty acids, sterols, tocopherols and carotenoids.

Type of extraction: Supercritical carbon dioxide extraction (CO₂)
Designation: CO₂-to – total extract (complete extract with all lipid components)
D/E ratio: 14 – 22 kg dried rosehip fruits per 1 kg of extract
Composition: 99.9% CO₂ extract from fruits of Rosa canina (BIO), 0.1% rosemary antioxidant (BIO)

Key benefits

  • Rich source of essential fatty acids – contains 40–60% linoleic acid (omega-6), 20–40% α-linolenic acid (omega-3) and 14–20% oleic acid (omega-9).
  • Antioxidant activity – thanks to its natural content of tocopherols and carotenoids, it protects cells against oxidative stress.
  • Supports skin regeneration – helps restore damaged cells, improves skin elasticity and softens scars.
  • Moisturising and nourishing effect – fatty acids improve hydration, refine skin texture and give it a healthy appearance.
  • Certified BIO quality – free from synthetic substances, solvents and pesticides, approved according to the COSMOS standard.

  • Oil blends and products for sensitive or mature skin
  • Natural hair care cosmetics and masks

  • Recommended dosage: 1 – 10%
  • Thermal stability: It is recommended to add during the cooling phase (at a temperature below 40 °C)
  • Compatibility: Compatible with vegetable oils, waxes and CO₂ extracts
  • Handling: Before use, gently warm to 40 °C and mix to restore a uniform consistency.

Cosmetic use

In cosmetics, rosehip CO₂ extract is used as an intensively regenerating and anti-age ingredient. Thanks to its content of essential fatty acids, tocopherols and carotenoids, it stimulates cell renewal and supports the healing of minor injuries and scars. It improves the elasticity and texture of the skin, helps to even out skin tone and reduces fine wrinkles. It is suitable for products intended for dry, mature or damaged skin, where it increases hydration and strengthens the skin barrier. Thanks to its gentle composition and excellent tolerability, it is also suitable for sensitive skin, regenerating oils and hair care products that improve hair shine and elasticity.

Safety and storage

For external use only. Store in a cool, dry and dark place, tightly closed and out of reach of children. Before use, gently warm and mix. It is recommended to store in dark containers in order to maintain the stability of fatty acids and antioxidants.

FAQ

What substances does rosehip CO₂ extract contain?

The extract contains high amounts of essential fatty acids – linoleic (omega-6), α-linolenic (omega-3) and oleic (omega-9), as well as natural antioxidants – tocopherols, sterols and carotenoids. These substances support skin regeneration and protect it against premature ageing.

For which skin type is rosehip oil suitable?

It is ideal for dry, mature, damaged or sensitive skin. It supports regeneration, improves elasticity and leaves the skin soft, hydrated and nourished.

Does rosehip extract also help with scars and wrinkles?

Yes, thanks to its content of fatty acids and antioxidants, it supports cell renewal and improves skin elasticity. Its regular use helps to soften scars and pigment spots and reduces fine wrinkles.

What does the designation “CO₂-to” mean?

The abbreviation CO₂-to stands for total extract – a complete CO₂ extract that includes all lipid and bioactive components of the plant. This type of extract is more nutritious and more stable than “selective” (CO₂-se) extracts, which contain only volatile components.
