Theessential oil from the bark of the hard birch (Betula lenta) consists mainly of methylsalicylate. It is a very potent oil and should only be used with caution and with knowledge of its contraindications.

It offers strong analgesic, anti-inflammatory, disinfectant and energising effects.

Birch essential oil belongs to the family Betulaceae. This oil has a sweet, woody, minty aroma and is classified as a top note. It blends well with camphor, citrus, earthy, floral, herbal, peppermint, spice and woody oils. Ithelps reduce joint and muscle pain, as well as pain associated with headaches and toothaches. It also works against cramps and relieves spasms throughout the body.

WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?
