Yes, the plastic mascara brush is also suitable for professional use in salons and makeup studios. In practice it is often used as a hygienic applicator for mascara, eyelash serum or eyebrow gels. For professional services we recommend using the brush as a single-use tool for each client and, for hygiene reasons, not returning it to the shared product container after use.

For home use it is possible to use the mascara brush repeatedly, provided it is intended for a single user only and basic hygiene rules are followed. Before each new filling or when changing the product, we recommend cleaning the brush as thoroughly as possible and, if possible, disinfecting it. For disinfection of the plastic parts, products based on alcohol are suitable, for example isopropyl alcohol IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Before contact with cosmetics always check that the brush is completely dry and free of any residues of the cleaning agent.

The brush should be cleaned gently so that neither the structure of the bristles nor the plastic wand is damaged. First remove residues of mascara or serum mechanically with lukewarm water and a mild soapy solution, taking care not to twist the brush with excessive force. Then it is possible to use a disinfectant based on alcohol (for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based). After disinfection rinse the brush thoroughly (if required by the procedure) and let it dry completely at room temperature. Do not use boiling or very hot water in order to avoid deformation of the plastic.

If you decide not to use the brush any longer, we recommend recycling it where possible according to the material specified in the product parameters. First remove any residues of the cosmetic product to minimise contamination of sorted waste. Then place the brush in the appropriate collection container in accordance with the recommendation resulting from the material designation in the parameter table (for example in plastics if it is a plastic component). If local recycling conditions do not allow sorting of pieces this small, dispose of the brush in mixed waste according to local waste management rules.
