White Glass Bottle, Black Shiny Dropper, 100 ml

The white glass medicine bottle with a capacity of 100 ml and a black glossy dropper is used for facial and hair oils, oil serums, tinctures and other liquid preparations that are dispensed drop by drop. The opaque white glass conceals the contents and limits the access of light, which matters for vegetable oils and active ingredients that lose their properties faster in light. Glass does not react with common cosmetic raw materials, so the bottle can also be filled with blends containing essential oils or with alcohol extracts. The dropper consists of a glass tube with a silicone bulb and a cap made of aluminium and plastic. Its length is matched to this bottle: it reaches almost to the bottom, so the contents can be drawn out down to the last drop.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. It is not intended for food packaging.

What it is suitable for

• Facial and hair oils – the dropper dispenses the oil drop by drop, which corresponds to the usual amount for a single use, and the contents do not come into contact with your fingers during application.
• Oil serums with active ingredients – preparations with coenzyme Q10, carotenoids, vitamin E or retinol in oil are sensitive to light and white glass protects them better than a clear bottle.
• Tinctures and alcohol extracts – the glass is resistant to alcohol and the dropper dispenses them precisely into water, toner or another formulation.
• Essential oil blends in a carrier oil – ready-made massage or aromatic blends that are dispensed drop by drop.

Filling and dispensing

The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed to hold when filled normally. The brimful capacity is the physical volume up to the neck and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between them provides a reserve for the glass tube of the dropper, which displaces part of the contents upwards when screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If the bottle is filled to the brim, the contents overflow through the neck once the dropper is inserted and soil the thread.

Fill the bottle using a funnel or a larger syringe. Wipe the neck dry before screwing on the closure so that the thread seals properly. To dispense, squeeze the bulb, immerse the tube in the contents and release the bulb; the liquid drawn in is then pushed out drop by drop. Thinner oils and alcohol-based preparations are drawn in quickly, thicker oils more slowly. The dropper is not suitable for gels and viscous serums, as the contents are either not drawn in or do not flow out of the tube.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash and rinse the bottle and disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. Treat the glass tube of the dropper in the same way. Let all parts dry completely, as residual water in an oil product promotes the growth of microorganisms. The bulb is cleaned on the outside only; disinfectant must not be drawn into its interior.

Glass is sensitive to sudden temperature changes. A heated oil phase should be left to cool to room temperature and only then filled. Opaque glass also has one disadvantage: the level of the contents cannot be seen from the outside. The remaining amount can be estimated by weight or by how much the dropper draws in.

After washing and disinfection, the bottle can be used repeatedly. A dropper that has lost its elasticity or stopped sealing should be replaced with a new one with the same neck type. Once it has reached the end of its life, the glass bottle goes into glass recycling. The dropper is made of several materials, so take it apart and sort the individual parts separately.
