Amber Glass Bottle, Glossy Black Dropper, 100 ml

A brown glass dropper bottle with a black glossy dropper cap is a complete set for precise dosing of liquid cosmetic preparations drop by drop – facial serums, facial and hair oils, oil blends with essential oils, tinctures or alcohol extracts. The bottle has a volume of 100 ml and the dropper screws onto an 18/410 neck finish. The brown glass protects the contents from light, and the dropper allows you to take exactly as much preparation as needed, without the remaining contents coming into contact with hands.

The bottle and dropper are matched so that the set seals and dispenses without any further adjustment. The length of the glass tube of the dropper corresponds to the height of the bottle, so it reaches almost to the bottom and can be used to draw out the remaining contents. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The glass bottle alone holds a food contact certificate; the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic preparations.

What the set is suitable for

It is best suited for liquid preparations with low to medium viscosity that are dosed drop by drop:

• facial serums on both water and oil bases, including serums with active ingredients sensitive to light,
• facial, hair and body oils and blends of carrier oils with essential oils,
• beard and cuticle oils, where only a few drops are applied,
• tinctures, alcohol extracts and concentrates for further dilution,
• samples and test batches during formula development, when precise dosing is required.

The dropper is not suitable for thick emulsions, creams and gels. For such textures, bottles with a pump or jars are more appropriate.

Nominal and total volume

Two volumes are distinguished for the bottle. Nominal volume is the volume for which the container is designed for normal filling and which is stated on the label. Total brim volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference between them provides a reserve for the glass tube of the dropper, which takes up some space after screwing on, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Otherwise, when the dropper is inserted, the contents will be pushed into the thread and the set may not seal properly.

Good to know

Preparation before first filling – we recommend washing the bottle and dropper before use, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing them to dry completely. Residual moisture in an anhydrous oil preparation can promote the growth of microorganisms. The silicone bulb of the dropper is disinfected on the outside; the glass tube is rinsed with alcohol and left to drip dry.

Dropper and preparation – the dropper combines a glass tube, a silicone bulb, a plastic thread and a glossy aluminium shell. During normal use, only the glass tube, into which the contents are drawn, comes into contact with the preparation. It is recommended not to draw the preparation up into the bulb and to return the dropper to the bottle after application.

Reuse – the glass bottle can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. When changing the preparation, it is advisable to replace the dropper with a new one, as residues of fragrance substances from the silicone and the inside of the tube are difficult to remove.

Labelling – the straight cylindrical wall of the dropper bottle allows a label to be applied all the way around or on the front only. For oil preparations, labels with strong adhesive are recommended to prevent any oil film on the glass from loosening them.

Recycling – the bottle goes in the glass recycling. The dropper is a combination of plastic, aluminium, silicone and glass and is sorted separately from the bottle.
