Product description
The white glass bottle with dropper, 10 ml, is a set for small quantities of cosmetics that are dispensed drop by drop. The white glass protects the contents from light, which you will appreciate with oils, serums and concentrates of active ingredients that are sensitive to oxidation. The black glossy dropper matches the bottle in colour, and the finished product looks clean even without printing.
The set consists of a medicine bottle with an 18/410 neck finish and a 53 mm dropper, matched to the height of the bottle. The tube reaches almost to the bottom, so you can take out practically all of the contents. Both components are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products, and the declaration of conformity is available with the product. The set is intended for cosmetics.
What it is suitable for
- Facial serums and oils – the 10 ml volume corresponds to a usual supply for several weeks, and with the dropper you apply exactly a few drops to your palm or directly to the skin.
- Essential oil blends and fragrance compositions – dispensed drop by drop into a diffuser, a massage oil or a formulation.
- Concentrates of active ingredients – small quantities of more expensive raw materials that are added to a cream or serum in a few drops.
- Samples and test batches – when developing a formulation, a 10 ml sample is easy to hand out for testing, and after use the set is washed and refilled.
How to work with the set
The dropper is screwed onto the neck of the bottle and seals it. When you squeeze the bulb, the contents are drawn into the tube, and when you release the pressure, they drip out. The dripping speed depends on the viscosity of the contents: thin oils and water-based serums flow smoothly, while thicker oils and syrupy textures are drawn in more slowly. For gel serums and products with a higher proportion of thickener, check whether the contents can be dispensed with a dropper at all.
The dropper combines several materials: a glass tube, a collar made of plastic (PP) and aluminium, and a silicone bulb. The glass of the tube tolerates most cosmetic raw materials, including essential oils. With concentrated essential oils, alcohol solutions and solvents, we recommend checking how the silicone bulb behaves in the specific formulation, as long-term contact may affect its shape or elasticity.
Fill the bottle so that the contents are not pushed into the thread when the dropper is screwed on. The tube takes up part of the volume, and if the bottle were filled to the brim, the contents would overflow when closing.
Volume and filling
The nominal volume of 10 ml is the quantity the bottle is designed for under normal filling. The brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck and is stated in the parameters. The difference between them forms a reserve for the dropper tube and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim.
Good to know
Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the dropper, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Residual water in the tube or at the bottom of the bottle would get into an oil-based product and could spoil it.
The set is suitable for repeated use. Do not expose the dropper bulb to high temperatures; the glass of the bottle withstands normal washing, but not sudden changes in temperature.
Glass protects the contents from light, not from heat. Therefore, store the bottle away from direct sunlight and close it immediately after dispensing. The air in the upper part of the bottle is exchanged each time it is opened, so the small 10 ml volume makes sense mainly for products that you will use up within a few weeks.
Glass breaks when dropped, and the 10 ml bottle has a thin neck. When sending samples and finished products to customers, wrap it in protective material and transport it upright.
The bottle is made of glass and, once emptied and washed, belongs in glass waste. The dropper combines glass, plastic, aluminium and silicone, so separate it from the bottle when sorting.
