Product description
Blue glass bottle with a black glossy dropper is a complete set for liquid cosmetic preparations dispensed drop by drop: face and hair serums, facial oils, blends of carrier oils with essential oils, oil macerates or alcohol tinctures. The bottle has a vial shape with a nominal volume of 100 ml, the dropper has the same thread type so they fit together precisely. Blue glass reduces light exposure and thus slows down changes in sensitive ingredients. The dropper measures out a small amount without pouring and without the contents coming into contact with hands.
The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The declaration of conformity is included with the product.
Why choose this set
- Light protection – blue glass transmits less light than clear glass, which is beneficial for oils rich in unsaturated fatty acids, essential oils and serums with sensitive active ingredients.
- Precise dosing – the dropper draws in and releases a small amount of preparation, making it suitable for products with a higher concentration of active ingredients where just a few drops are sufficient.
- Hygienic use – the contents are neither poured out nor directly touched; contact with the surroundings is limited to the brief moment of taking a dose.
- Glass durability – glass does not react with oils, alcohol or common cosmetic ingredients, does not absorb scent and does not discolour.
- Matched dropper length – the tube is sized to match the height of this bottle, reaching almost to the bottom so the contents can be fully drawn out without unnecessary residue.
How the set works
The dropper consists of a glass tube, silicone bulb and a threaded cap made of plastic with a glossy aluminium sleeve. Squeezing the bulb draws liquid into the tube; releasing it dispenses it drop by drop onto the palm or directly onto the skin. The cap screws onto the bottle neck and seals the contents when tightened.
It works best with liquid and slightly thicker preparations. With very viscous serums, liquid is drawn in slowly and drops form with difficulty. The dropper is not suitable for emulsions and creams.
Before filling an entire series, test the behaviour of the specific formulation in one set: how quickly it is drawn in, whether it drips evenly and whether the bulb changes after a few days. Silicone is resistant, but prolonged contact with a high proportion of certain essential oils or solvents may cause changes.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for during standard filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference between them is a reserve for the dropper tube, which takes up some space when screwed in, and for the slight expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.
Suitable for products such as
- facial serums on oil and water base that are dispensed drop by drop,
- facial and hair oils, blends of carrier oils with essential oils,
- oil serums for the cuticle and beard oils,
- alcohol tinctures and herbal macerates intended for cosmetic use,
- active ingredient concentrates that are added drop by drop to a finished cream.
Water-based preparations must be reliably preserved, as the packaging is repeatedly opened and the dropper comes into contact with the surroundings with each use.
Good to know
Preparation before first filling. We recommend washing both the bottle and the dropper, disinfecting with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing to dry completely. Residual water in the tube would get into the oil product and could cause cloudiness or a microbial problem.
Repeated use. The glass can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. For the dropper, check the flexibility of the bulb and the cleanliness of the tube.
Glass and heat. Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes. Allow a hot phase to cool to at least lukewarm temperature before filling. Do not fill the bottle directly from boiling contents and do not transfer it from a cold environment into hot water.
Labelling. The straight cylindrical wall allows an all-around or front label to be applied.
Food contact. The set is intended for cosmetic products and is not declared for contact with food.
Recycling. The bottle goes in glass recycling; the dropper is made of multiple materials and should be sorted separately.
For oils with essential oils, tighten the cap firmly but not forcefully. An over-tightened thread on the plastic cap loses its seal and the contents may leak during transport.
