White plastic bottle with white sprayer, 150 ml is a ready-made complete packaging and closure for everything applied by spraying: facial tonics, hydrolats, refreshing mists, hair sprays, leave-in spray conditioners, textile and home fragrances, or cleaning and disinfecting solutions. The white plastic bottle with a nominal volume of 150 ml and a white sprayer with a smooth collar share the same thread, so the set simply needs to be filled and screwed on.

The white opaque wall lets through less light than clear plastic, which helps with light-sensitive contents, while also concealing any discolouration or cloudiness of the filling. The bottle is made of PET, is lightweight and shatterproof, making it suitable for the bathroom, travel, and for selling products that customers carry in a bag. The sprayer is made of PP and comes with a dip tube. The complete set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. Only the bottle alone holds a food-contact certificate; the set with the sprayer is therefore intended for cosmetics and toiletries, not for food.

For what contents is the set suitable

The sprayer works reliably with watery and thin liquids: hydrolats, tonics, aqueous solutions of active ingredients, lightly thickened mists, and alcoholic solutions (hair sprays, hand sanitisers, home fragrances with an alcohol base). Thicker emulsions, gels, and more viscous oils will not atomise through the nozzle; the jet will be weak or the valve will clog. For such products, a pump or bottle with a different closure is more appropriate.

For contents with a higher proportion of essential oils, fragrance compositions, or solvents, we recommend verifying the behaviour of both the plastic and the sprayer gasket on a single unit before larger-scale filling. PET and PP generally tolerate diluted aqueous and alcoholic formulations, but concentrated essential oils and aggressive chemicals can soften or cloud the plastic over time.

The dip tube of the sprayer is longer than the height of the bottle. Before first use, trim it at an angle so that it ends just above the base. The sprayer will then draw out almost the entire contents and the jet will not weaken as the level drops.

Nominal and total volume – why the bottle is not filled to the brim

Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is designed for normal filling and which you state on the label. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is somewhat larger. The difference provides headspace for the dip tube, for air above the liquid level, and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim; otherwise, when the sprayer is screwed on, part of the contents would be forced out.

What is worth knowing before filling

Before first use, wash and disinfect the bottle and sprayer with alcohol or isopropyl alcohol and let them dry completely. Aqueous formulations in a spray require reliable preservation. Although the sprayer limits finger contact with the contents, air is drawn into the bottle with each press.

PET is not intended for hot filling. Allow the contents to cool to room temperature before filling; otherwise the bottle wall may deform.

The sprayer is not intended for thick or oily products. After use with alcoholic or fragrant solutions, rinse it thoroughly with clean water before the next filling to prevent residues from affecting the scent of the new contents.

At end of life, separate the bottle and sprayer and recycle them as plastic according to material type.

Frequently asked questions

Is the white plastic bottle with sprayer 150 ml suitable for hydrolat or facial tonic?

Yes, hydrolats and tonics are a typical use for this set. They are thin aqueous liquids that the sprayer disperses into a fine mist. The white opaque bottle also blocks light, which is not beneficial for hydrolats. Aqueous contents in a spray must be properly preserved, as air is drawn into the bottle during spraying.

Can oil be sprayed in this set?

Only thin oils, and even then expect a coarser spray. The sprayer is designed for aqueous and alcoholic solutions. More viscous oils, emulsions, and gels will weaken the jet or clog the nozzle. For oily products, a bottle with a pump or dropper is more appropriate. For oils containing essential oils, also verify the behaviour of the plastic on a single unit.

Why is the 150 ml bottle not filled right to the brim?

Because the nominal volume is smaller than the bottle's capacity up to the neck. The headspace above the nominal volume is needed for the dip tube, for air above the liquid level, and for expansion of the contents during warmer storage. If filled to the brim, part of the contents would be pushed out when the sprayer is screwed on and the bottle could overflow.

Can the white bottle with sprayer be used for food, for example cooking oil?

No, the complete set is not approved for food contact. Only the bottle itself holds a food-contact certificate; the white sprayer is declared only for cosmetic and technical use. The bottle + sprayer set is therefore intended for cosmetics, toiletries, and home or textile sprays.

How is the white plastic bottle with sprayer cleaned and can it be reused?

Yes, the set is designed for repeated filling. Wash the bottle with lukewarm water and detergent, rinse, disinfect with alcohol, and leave to dry upside down. Rinse the sprayer by pumping clean water through it several times and then air, so that both the dip tube and the nozzle are cleared. Do not use hot water; PET deforms with heat.

Is the PET bottle resistant to alcoholic solutions, such as hand sanitiser or hair spray?

Yes, the PET bottle and PP sprayer handle diluted alcoholic solutions at normal concentrations without problems. Caution is warranted with a high proportion of essential oils, fragrance compositions, or solvents, which can cloud or soften the plastic over time.
